I took almost no pictures of the things I ate but I did remember to take pictures of the spicy pie everyone always talks about when at Coachella. It was my first time trying it and I understand the hype. I wish y’all could try the lemonade. I literally drank over 10 glasses of lemonade all weekend. So refreshing! Most of the time I loved off cup ramen and eggs.
Once again I find myself stumbling here after an extended night of hedonism. Crab noodles at 2AM with the haze of whisky clearing the mind is truly one of the greatest feelings ever.
I just realized that crab cakes are a cake and that more people should be having them for their birthday cake. I’d take a giant slice of grab cake over most any kind of cake. Maybe I’m just dreaming of what could be. Be the change you want to see in the world and all that jazz. When crab season returns I’ll consider buying enough to make a crab birthday cake and maybe it’ll catch on. That being said these were bomb dot com. A good crab cake is difficult to execute but these were perfect.
As you can tell I’m craving cold treats. I never had Italian ice before but was pleasantly surprised 😮 i thought it was just gonna be a slushy but it had a denser texture and the soft serve was so thick I can hardly believe it was able to extrude out of the dispenser. Now that I’ve had a taste of Italian ice I’ll be keeping a look out for it to try the differences. So many flavors to try not enough calories in a life.
it’s raining here in San Francisco and wisp of spring has come and gone. A reprieve from rain was short and ethereal, a brief reminder of what is to come however there is always @baskinrobbins a constant through the seasons... let’s be real I just want ice cream
it’s Monday! Honestly these croissants (chocolate and ham and gruyere cheese) are everything. One of these really gets me going for the day. Can’t go back to Starbucks or Costco croissants after having tried these
If you follow my stories you know I recently made truffle oil and Parmesan cheese popcorn. Inspired from @drafthouse popcorn of the same like. Now I can dine at home and still enjoy this treat. Stupid simple too! Next I want to try making their churro popcorn
Changing things up for today and posting some pictures my cousin took while I was making food for us last Sunday. Perks of having a professional photographer for a cousin. He’d tell you shooting in film has more soul than digital and that shooting in a medium format gives you only 10 shots per roll so every shot requires more thought because it has to count. I just had to smile and look pretty. Honestly the food was great but I just wanted to show off the carrot dragon 🐉. Amirite? Too bad they told us not to eat it or I would tucked into it so fast you wouldn’t have had enough time to make a wish with your dragon balls.
I’ve been meaning to try more pasta so I went to @italianhomemadecompany and I’m glad I did. My pasta game has been abysmal. This place was amazing.
My favorite Indian spot in the city. Always hits the spot. Where’s your favorite Indian spot? What’s your favorite Indian dish?
There’s this restaurant I probably walked by hundreds of times that I never went into because I thought it was just another burrito spot but boy did I not know what I’m missing. my friend was raving about this spot in the mission where he had the best Caldo de res ever. Ever tried their caldo de res, it’s essentially a Mexican beef soup reminiscent of the Filipino nilaga and other similar dishes around the world. Simplicity in its design it’s often created everywhere cause it’s just water, beef, assorted veggies and salt. Every where has their twist on it and the variations are pretty limitless. I’ll try to be more open minded and try more places which I would have often not even considered. Maybe that’s what I’m giving up for lent, restaurant snobbiness.
Korean fried chicken tacos anyone? Why is it almost every fusion place is basically something differently ethnic in a tortilla? Whatever it works, it’s the near perfect conveyance for goodies. Chinese fusion? Put some char siu in a tortilla. Filipino fusion, put lechon and many tomas in there. Either way fusion food is bomb and honestly what really isn’t fusion. You think the Italians invented the noodle?
happy belated saint patricks day! Here’s something green. And we all know if it’s green it’s healthy. Pandan waffles. Came here with a group knowing full well that we had a feast to eat in less than 3 hours. Ordered pho and these waffles. Didn’t regret it. Came for the gram stayed for the waffle
Easily the best bread I’ve ever had. Their citrus preserves tasted amazing paired with their country loaf. If you get a chance to try, I highly recommended you give it a shot. What’s the best of something you ever tried? Bonus points if I can get access to it relatively easily
Had a chance to sample the new Korean Fried Chicken sandwich and much of the most popular menu items from @starbirdchicken and I was into it. Glazed with a slightly sweet and slightly spicy sauce that’s very sticky and kinda a messy to eat (ok I’m probably just a messy eater) but totally worth the effort and possible stain on your favorite Patagonia sweater. The food was great and I hope y’all get to try the food! There was so much stuff on the menu but I didn’t have the stomach or time to try it all. If you’ve been here before what’s your favorite thing here? I’m definitely a fan of all the sandwiches I tried and the cranberry lemonade was on point
Crispy duck banh mi. Come on! If that doesn’t cause you to drool I dunno what will! Imagine coming up with this. “Breh, you know what would make this banh mi better? We should like totally put crispy duck breast and stuff... dooooooopppppe” I mean I’m assuming they were high coming up with it and if they were I salute you for making this amazing dish. It’s way better than a sushi donut in my opinion
#guestmunchies from my good ol buddy @daniel_paravati he had the nerve to go to what he knows is my absolute favorite ice cream shop without me and text me a picture of his food. Like I wouldn’t drop what I was doing to go to Fenton’s. The nerve. I heard their crab sandwich is bomb but I only ever eat ice cream here so I dunno. FYI if you go to Fenton’s and we’re close enough that you can either send me a text or DM to come along and you don’t, keep it a secret cause I hold food grudges. You get one warning ⚠️. What food sins do others trespass against you?
