Hi! This is a small part of my incredibly wonderful family! The other half lives in Minnesota! I tend to bounce back and forth as life allows! My mother and I started LGF Suris together over 20 years ago with the goal of raising the finest, densest Suri alpacas in white and light fleece. And then learning how to create the finest yarns we could. Our yarns are like a cross between cashmere and silk! We've always loved color and making up new colors to dye our yarns We took our yarns wholesale 4 years ago and are happily spreading the Suri love across the country! #yarnlovechallenge2019 #fiberuary #february #fiberarts #fiberuarychallenge #surialpaca #luxuryyarn #knittersofinstagram
I've been following the discussion on IG and elsewhere about racism and inclusivity for awhile now and mostly felt it was my job to listen, learn and share my support. But I will not stay silent any longer! When I read about a fellow knitter who prepared to go to VKL and then didn't feel safe going my heart broke. With that on top of reading/listening to fellow white fiber people center themselves and try to define what racism is and isn't, not to mention supporting white supremacy, I could not in good conscience stay quiet. We cannot function as a world/country/community without the support of all of us, without inclusivity, love and support for all! The perspectives of POC are valid and the struggles they have been telling us about are hard and so very real. I'm against any articles/posts/comments that minimize the experiences of POC. I hope we can work together to make the #fiberarts community safe and inclusive for all!
Obligatory NYC selfie!
We all have colds here! To give mommy a chance to nap I employed my grandmother's trick, a tube of (duct) tape sticks to fingers!
