In Greek mythology, Medusa was a monster, a Gorgon, generally described as a woman with living venomous snakes in place of hair. Those who gazed upon her face would turn to stone. There are many stories about Medusa. One famous one is that she was once a beautiful woman, then cursed by Athena for being raped by Poseidon (much more to the story). Although this is considered mythology there are some who believe that it is based on real stories. In this digital age we live in, the internet, algorithms and ultimately AI can become our Medusa. Something that is beautiful can become a cursed monster with its propaganda, false reality, mindless materials and negativity. Turning humanity to stone (metaphorically, symbolically and literal). Next time you're on the train, bus or on a public space look at the amount of people turned to stone by their phones. I'm a victim too. That's why we have to slay this monster with truth, empathy and love. Make her beautiful again before real total AI is born. Once that happens... 🤦🏾♂️😟
