Do I think every style of fitness works for everyone, nope. I think you have to find something you enjoy, and that is effective for your body. I also believe you HAVE GOT TO SWITCH IT UP!!! Your body gets used to moving/lifting the same way over and over and over again. Sure I am a creature of habit for most things. But my body and mind need a change of pace with workouts. What matters most is how well you walk through the fire. 🖤 - There’s so many reasons why I should’ve just given up. Why I should’ve just settled. I’ve been through trauma, heart break, defeat, unbearable pain, and still somehow there’s a moment where it starts to heal. When I was 18, my best friend died in a car accident. Not only were we best friends..but cousins. Someone I grew up with and now has forever changed my life. Between the ages of 18-21 I felt extremely alone. I lived by myself. I barely had enough money to get by. I took all my pain out on food and slowly gained 70 lbs of extra weight. Growing up I always felt like an outsider..like I didn’t belong. My family never had a lot of money growing up but it taught me to be kind. To understand that money isn’t everything and won’t determine your happiness. Flash forward to 25, i’m on top of my game. I built a fitness corporation..selling workout guides, clothing, and monthly subscriptions. Even more than the fancy business names, I simply get to do my passion every single day. I live by the beach *which was my dream*, I have the best relationship with @drivingcody which I never thought could be this good. I never felt deserving of love. My life really turned around. Honestly, I never ever thought that it would. I felt like I was stuck. The point of my rant is to tell you... 1. You can change any situation that you’re in 2. You are enough 3. Proper Breathing Part 3: Breathing During Exercise If you missed Part 1 (IGTV video) or Part 2 (diaphragmatic breathing post), go check those out. Now that we know HOW to breathe properly, let’s apply that to exercise. If you’re not breathing correctly during exercise, your form will be off which can make the exercises ineffective - or worse, harmful! A good general rule to follow is “exhale on the effort” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 99% of the time, you should be exhaling during the muscle contraction. This is typically when you’re lifting, pressing, or curling. (Keep the core nice and tight for balance) 10-12 reps each leg 2️⃣ Plank Step Up (try to keep both hip points facing towards the earth with little rotation as you step up) Alternating 10 reps total 3️⃣ Elevated Single Leg Glute Bridge (balance the leg that’s straight right over your hip, squeeze the glutes at the top, and slowly lower) 10 reps each side 4️⃣ Elevated Plank Spider-Man’s (pull the naval to the spine, shoulders stack over wrists, and hips are in line with the shoulders) 10-12 reps total 5️⃣ Pike ups ( walk hands out to plank potions keeping the core nice and tight, then walk hands toward the sofa poking at the hips) 10 reps total 6️⃣Single Leg Sofá Squat 😜 6-8 reps each leg Repeat everything 3 x

Taught a 5:15 am P90X class this morning. Got through it, but dang, morning workouts are HARD for me!!! However, some of the ladies in my girl gang would much rather work out in the early morning hours rather than in the evenings. So what is best for you? Are morning workouts better than evening workouts? There isn't a definitive answer on that, kids. In a 2012 study, researchers found that EVENING exercise resulted in lower oxygen consumption—which meant the folks in the study were exercising more efficiently. Their rate of perceived exertion (how hard they felt like their body was working) was lower than it was in the mornings, too. The study also found that strength and flexibility are greatest in the late AFTERNOON, which is also when perceived exertion is at the lowest point. But, this same 2012 study found that by regularly working out in the MORNING, you could improve your exercise performance over time to be on par with what you’d normally experience in the afternoon. You just need to be consistent about it. . So what's the best time to work out, then? The bottom line is that the best time to work out is whenever it works best for you!! There’s absolutely nothing wrong with working out first thing if that’s what you’re into. 15 POUNDS BETWEEN THESE TWO PHOTOS AND A WHOLE LOT OF INSECURITIES. . . Did I have more visible abs a few months ago? Sure. Was my body fat % lower? Hell yeah. . . A lot of people have an expectation from Instagram that you have to be shredded year-round to “look good”. That you have to have a crazy low body fat % to be happy with your body. That in order to feel proud you have to have a 6 pack. That happiness stems from leanness. . . I’m here to tell you that is NOT the case. I am over 15 pounds heavier today than I was a few months ago. The pros? . . I feel AMAZING. My energy has SKY ROCKETED. I’ve gotten SOOOOO much stronger. And…Ya girls got a BOOTY. I actually have a hell of a lot more confidence now than I did before. . . There is so much more to life than being lean yall. The scale does not dictate your happiness. Your body fat % DOES NOT dictate your happiness. . . The funny thing? I had to take this picture on the right, right before we left for thanksgiving dinner because I felt I should be leaner. I was SO insecure about my body. I would constantly lift my shirt up and pinch my stomach to see how much fat I could get or to make sure my abs were still visible. I wasn’t happy a few months ago. I was lean as heck, but it didn’t make me happier or love my body more. . . Here I am now though. Strong as heck. Happier than I’ve ever been. I might not be as lean as half the girls on IG anymore, but I learned that I don’t need to be. I am healthy. I am changing lives everyday with my knowledge. . . I am SO blessed for that, and I feel so lucky to realize in such a short time span that BEING LEAN DOESN’T MEAN ANYTHING. It DOESN’T dictate happiness. I repeat…. IT DOESN’T DICTATE HAPINESS.

What type of fast are you doing? __ Intermittent fasting (IF) is an eating pattern that cycles between periods of fasting and eating. No, no, no! If you’re a mom and running is your sanity, then go and run for crying out loud. But, if it hurts or you pee yourself, or your core feels like it’s going to fall out, then walk! And find a good core and pelvic floor PT to help you get strong! Diastasis is not a barrier to ever running again. There are a ton of things a fitness pro or a PT can help you with to actually help you heal quickly, and there are other issues that will take more time. Some mamas can load their core pretty heavily and it actually helps their DR heal! Others can’t. You have to know your body. In the early stages, the walk/run intervals will be your best friend. If you can run for 30 seconds without pain or form breakdown then do that. Build up. Or maybe you can run a mile without leaking. Great! Do that! Or maybe you can’t take a single step without some kind of pelvic pain. Then... pause. For now, walk and do your core rehab. But now is not forever. Set your sights on your goal and find a pelvic floor PT to help you get there. Taking a few steps back to heal now in the short term will pay off dividends for your runs in the long term! What is DETERMINATION? DETERMINATION is the controlling or deciding of something's nature or outcome. When you decide to fully commit to something in your life, you are saying that you are determined to finish it. But what if the something you are going after seems farther and farther away from reaching it? You dont quit. You push yourself harder! You remember why you started your journey! When I was 19, I lost my dad. I was in nursing school. I quit that because the pain I was experiencing was too much for me to handle. I quickly moved out of the house because he had died there. The pain of being in that house was so intense. I was trying my best to move forward and actually forget about my dad. I wouldnt let people talk about him around me. I turned mean. I started drinking lots. My life was spiraling out of control and by this point I was 21. I ended up losing my car because I barely could work. I had to move back home to the same place I was running from. I had no car and no job. Partied all the time. I was a wreck. People would say to my mom that I wasnt going to amount to anything in life. My depression was the worst ever! I slowly pulled myself together over the next 3 years. It was a slow process but I had determination to keep fighting. I learned how to cope with my dads death and deal with my severe depression. I will never forgot those awful words people were saying and I carry them with me now. They fuel my fire when shit gets tough. Life isnt easy. You will face tough times. You can get thru them if you have the determination to do so. Setbacks are ok. Just make sure you get back up and pushing forward. Find something to fuel your fire. Lean on others when necessary. Just never give up. You are worth soo much more than the battle you are fighting! You give 110% to yourself! Do it for you! You got this!!
