Le 19, 26 et 27 janvier, 19 jeunes provenant de groupes socioculturels moins bien représentés au sein des instances politiques jeunesse, ont pu participer à la 32e édition du Jeune Conseil de Montréal grâce à des bourses octroyées par La Génératrice à travers le projet Inclusion Jeunesse de Mélanie Ederer.

Mélanie et ses coéquipières Kimberly Koulombe et Rayane Zahal ont participé au recrutement des participant.e.s pour le JCM et ont facilité la participation de ces jeunes 19 boursier.e.s dans le but de rendre la politique municipale plus inclusive, et ce, « une simulation à la fois »!

Inclusion Jeunesse - Youth Inclusion est un projet par et pour les jeunes agissant sur l'enjeu de la représentativité au sein des instances politiques jeunesse. Il est rendu possible grâce au soutien de La Génératrice, une initiative du FJÎM (instance de @concertationmtl) qui permet à 12 jeunes âgé.e.s de 15 à 29 ans de devenir acteurs et actrices de changement en mettant de l’avant des projets par, pour et avec les jeunes, suite au projet #Jeunesse375Mtl .

Thanks for extra motivation fam ❤️ The next video is me banging out 225lbs for 25 reps [yes, know they were uncontrolled reps... maybe speed reps before the cramp]. My right ham was going through a spasm and cramping a little. But still able to safely grind it out. Had a crazy week. Hit squats twice this week with some heavy volume. Hit shoulders and chest in between those days and hit a DL session today. Going to take the next two days to reset the body as I’m due for a rest day. Next post will be bench or shoulders... I promise ahaha

This part of your quadriceps is very important for stability of the knee and knee cap, and plays an important role in injury prevention and performance. In assessments, we find that this muscle is always very weak within the quad-complex. On that wavelength, a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Most people always perform the same typical movements over and over (general squats, deadlifts, leg press, leg extensions, etc). It's a good idea to switch up your exercises from time to time (as to avoid overuse injuries while equally stimulating new motor units and muscle fibers).

You're also probably thinking that this is bad for your knees. Let me address that! Does this put more pressure in your knee region? Yes. Is that bad? Depends. If you have pre-existing knee pain, can this particular movement be an issue? Yes. If you don't have any knee issues, is this movement ok? Very well could be! Exercise selection depends on a variety of factors, so there's no clear cut trajectory without understanding and assessing someone. With that said, if the glove fits (AKA if the exercise is the right prescription for the client and their needs), the dumbbell heels elevated hack squat can be a great tool in one's tool box to integrate for new squat gains, reduced likelihood of injury, and better overall performance.

It's a good idea to switch up your exercises from time to time (as to avoid overuse injuries while equally stimulating new motor units and muscle fibers). - You're also probably thinking that this is bad for your knees. Let me address that! Does this put more pressure in your knee region? Yes. Is that bad? Depends. If you have pre-existing knee pain, can this particular movement be an issue? Yes. If you don't have any knee issues, is this movement ok? Very well could be! Exercise selection depends on a variety of factors, so there's no clear cut trajectory without understanding and assessing someone. With that said, if the glove fits (AKA if the exercise is the right prescription for the client and their needs), the dumbbell heels elevated hack squat can be a great tool in one's tool box to integrate for new squat gains, reduced likelihood of injury, and better overall performance.
