When you just need to hold it together for 20 more mins— here are the weird ones that actually work 😭✨ 1. Look up and blink rapidly 👀 Tears pool at the bottom of your eye. Looking up uses gravity to pull them back and rapid blinking reabsorbs them before they fall. Looks slightly unhinged in public. Completely works. 2. Press your tongue to the roof of your mouth👅 This one sounds insane but it's used by actors and therapists. The physical tension it creates in your jaw interrupts the emotional signal trying to reach your tear ducts. Hold it there for 10 seconds. 3. Think of something completely mundane and specific 🧊 Not "happy thoughts." Genuinely boring, specific ones. What did you have for lunch on Tuesday? What colour is your front door? Your brain cannot process grief and logistics simultaneously. The mundane detail kicks the emotion out of the driver's seat. 4. Take one big inhale and hold it for 5 seconds 💨 Crying is partly driven by the rhythm of your breathing. Holding your breath briefly interrupts that rhythm and buys you a window. Later, when you're somewhere safe, let it out properly. I use Noah AI therapist app 💚for this — especially when I don't want to call someone but still need to say the thing out loud. 5. Press hard on the space between your thumb and index finger🖐️ It's an acupressure point linked to emotional regulation. Press firmly for about 30 seconds. Distracts your nervous system and gives the wave somewhere to go that isn't your face. Save this for the next meeting, wedding, or 'I'm fine' moment that almost breaks you — and send it to a friend who needs it 😭🤍 #mentalhealth #selfcare #healingjourney #anxietyrelief #mindfulness #growthmindset #emotionalwellness #transformation #overcominganxiety #selfgrowth #motivation #positivity #innerpeace #mentalstrength #relationshipadvice #relationshipcoach #relationships #tips #improvement #noahai #noahtherapy #aitherapist #noahapp #theaithatgetsyou #youraitherapist

What Did You See First? A Moment-in-Time Stress Test This quick test offers a snapshot of how your nervous system is currently interpreting the world around you. There's no right or wrong answer—just a clue about your present moment. Decoding Your Instant Reaction 👣 If you saw the FEET first... Your perception is currently tuned to *movement and direction*. This often means your mind is in a state of "doing" — you might be focused on a goal, trying to outrun a problem, or feeling the urge to escape a situation. Your nervous system is alert and mobilized. The message from your brain is: "We are in motion. Let's keep going." While this shows drive, it's a gentle reminder to check if you're running *towards* something you want, or just *away* from something you don't. 🦈 If you saw the SHARK first... Your perception is currently tuned to *potential threats and details*. This indicates your nervous system is in a state of heightened vigilance or hyperarousal. You might be scanning for what could go wrong, feeling on edge, or picking up on underlying tensions in your environment. This reflects a strong survival instinct and deep analytical ability. The message from your brain is: "Let's be careful. Let's assess the risk." The key here is to acknowledge the alertness without letting it tip into overwhelming anxiety. A Quick Practice to Reset Your "Now" If this snapshot revealed some tension, here's a 3-minute practice designed to ground you back in the present moment and gently shift your state. "5-4-3-2-1 Grounding Technique" This exercise uses your senses to pull your focus away from stressful thoughts and anchor it in your immediate surroundings. 1. Acknowledge 5 things you see around you. (e.g., "I see a blue cup, a ray of sunlight, a book, my hand, a green plant.") 2. Acknowledge 4 things you can touch around you. (e.g., "I feel the texture of my chair, the smoothness of my phone, the fabric of my clothes, the cool air on my skin.") 3. Acknowledge 3 things you hear. (e.g., "I hear the hum of the computer, a bird outside, the sound of my own breathing.") 4. Acknowledge 2 things you can smell. (e.g., "I smell the faint scent of coffee, the freshness .....

Just slow down. Tom Hardy is one of the most compelling actors of his generation. A man known for intensity and transformation on screen who here reveals something quieter and more human: the simple wisdom of stillness. The world moves fast. It demands urgency about things that are not urgent. It fills the mind with noise and images and the relentless pressure of busyness that never quite resolves into peace. And most people run at that pace without ever questioning whether they have to. Without ever asking what it would cost to simply slow down. Not stop. Not quit. Just slow down. Go at your own speed. The speed that actually belongs to you rather than the one the world has decided you should be moving at. There is a reason the most powerful reset available to any human being is also the most basic: sleep. Not optimization. Not a five step morning routine. Just rest. The full, surrendered, complete letting go of everything the day demanded and everything tomorrow will ask for. In that surrender something is restored that busyness cannot touch. The mind clears. The body repairs. The soul, for lack of a better word, catches up to where the body has been dragging it all day. You are allowed to be still. You are allowed to go slowly. You are allowed to close your eyes and let the world carry on without you for a few hours. It will still be there in the morning. Rest is not weakness. It is how you come back whole. Slowing down isn’t falling behind, it’s choosing your mental health. 🖤 In a world that glorifies hustle, constant notifications, and nonstop comparison, sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is pause. Breathe. Log off. Go outside. Sit with your thoughts. Protect your peace. You don’t have to earn rest. You don’t have to justify taking a break. You don’t have to burn out to prove your worth. Slowing down helps you reconnect with what actually matters — your energy, your clarity, your joy. Mental health isn’t a luxury… it’s the foundation. 🌿 Today’s reminder: Move at the pace that keeps you whole. #MentalHealth #SlowLiving #SelfCare #ProtectYourPeace #Mindfulness HealingJourney BurnoutRecovery AnxietyRelief WellnessMatters InnerPeace MentalHealthAwareness IGWellness HealthyHabits RestIsProductive

#MentalHealth #StressManagement #Wellbeing #Health #Healthcare #Leadership #Resilience #Mindfulness #Healthspan #BurnoutPrevention #selfcaresunday
