Thank you my Dearest @frenchleathersandfog for including me in this interesting discussion where it is a question of saying a little more about our personality, I find it very exciting. « I wish to remain an eternal enigma to myself and to others » declared Ludwig II.

Ok I may surprise some of you here, disappoint others and despite the fact that I have a lot of Muses and I could have mentioned among them Katherine Mansfield, Colette, Loulou de la Falaise or Anita Pallenberg, the one I feel closest to is a man.
Ludwig II of Bavaria.

I love everything about him and a lot of things of his life resonates in me like an echo.

His life was an intricate puzzle of unresolved questions, a mosaic of varied aesthetic tastes, a musical composition.

Ludwig was a solitary, shy introvert spirit who liked to repose in the nature around his palaces, surrounded by classical music and paintings. He disliked the realities of royal life and avoided public functions and social events as much as possible.

He commissioned the construction of several extravagant and fantastic castles and palaces, the most famous of which is Neuschwanstein.
He was the patron of the composer Richard Wagner.

Ludwig spent his life trying to repress his homosexuality because of his Catholic beliefs, but he repeatedly fell in love with astonishingly beautiful men.

He developed a fascination with reincarnation toward the end of his reign, a concept that arrived in Europe from the East, compliments of Hinduism, Buddhism, and similar belief systems.

His cousin Empress Elisabeth of Austria held that "The King was not mad; he was just an eccentric living in a world of dreams." __________________________________________________________________

Linderhof was once a family farm which was taken over by King Maximilian II, King of Bavaria, for his hunting days. He modernized the interior but did not touch the outside.
If the new king Ludwig II, son of Maximilian, went there often, it was more for isolation than for hunting, because he hated this sport as much as the war. From 1872, after many demolitions, reconstructions and renovations, the castle of Linderhof gradually appeared under its current state. In 1873, it was covered with stones and the roof renewed. The last works were completed in 1885.
Louis II hated the presence of witnesses. The dining room was equipped with a platform on which was placed the table. This platform slid down to the floor below, where the kitchens were. Then the table went up with the meal; so the king did not have to meet the servants.
The gardens of Linderhof are a centerpiece of the site. The landscape architect Carl von Effner, who directed the development of the park, took advantage of the slopes of the valley to install ponds, waterfalls and terraced gardens. The park extends over several hectares.
The completely artificial Cave of Venus has been designed to recreate the atmosphere of the Venusberg episode of the Wagnerian opera Tannhäuser. The king loved to find, dreaming of imaginary worlds, while listening to the music of Richard Wagner, played by an orchestra hidden behind rocks.
The Moorish Pavilion is actually the former Prussian Pavilion of the Paris Exposition of 1867. It was bought from a Prussian railway manufacturer in 1876, following its bankruptcy.
