So what is the project?? I’m glad you asked! 😉 The project grew from an idea to speak love into people’s lives. There’s so much hurt in the world. I want to help shine a light in the dark and broken areas. I want to speak beautiful truths about the people I encounter. I want to write meaningful messages and give people the gift of art at the same time. I want to build hope and encourage a deep sense of self awareness in my circles of influence. .
So why lettering? It wasn’t so long ago that I felt like my soul was fractured. I was a shell of myself and many people did not even know. It was a very isolating and lonely time. It was also a time when I realized, people didn’t want to speak about the difficult things. They would deflect to surface positivity. I don’t believe they’re bad people. Not at all. However, I do believe it’s because wrestling with the messiness of life is simply a hard thing to do. We’re not really taught how to deal with it. So, sometimes it comes out awkward or insensitive.
.
Because of this and many more complex reasons, I found myself in my darkest and loneliest moments. And that’s when I turned to what I knew — art. It became my self-care during a time when I desperately needed it. It lifted me. I want to share a bit of that feeling with others. Everyone — EVERYONE — is dealing with something. And oftentimes they’re doing it silently and alone.

This project is light. It’s love. You’ll receive a personal message written from my heart. You’ll receive a piece of hand-lettered artwork with a special word that is personal to you. You’ll also receive this quote written out for you to remember to speak beautiful things.
