The first picture - Fifi at the high-kill shelter, begging for her life ( scroll for more) We learned about Fifi, a beautiful 6 month old American Bulldog mix. At just 6 months old, she was about to be put down for lack of space. She is such an amazing dog, we couldn’t let that happen. She is in a very temporary Foster home, and she is doing great. We are looking for a foster or better yet an adopter for this stunning g little Oreo cookie. She is great with all dogs, big and small. Go to www.nycsecondchancerescue.org to apply for Fifi. We can only save them if we have fosters/ adopters. #becausetheymatter#nycscr#fifilaroux#saveme#adoptme#homeless#fostercare#adoptdontshop#loveme

Starter rental Package $325
This package will allow anyone to rent without a fico score but may require a hefty deposit once approved. The deposit can range from more than the minimum on up to a full months rent. Please understand that you can apply for a rental within the same week of purchase but you will not have a fico score until you build your new file with a secured card or by adding tradelines.
Rental properties look at a blank file as if you have never rented before and you have never established credit or you have had your credit cleaned, this is very common... also no rental history means they will exempt the rental background check which is good for speeding up the process.
We will assist with applications for approvals so do not worry about that part just sign up and we will take care of the rest. The starter package comes with a tri-merged cpn, employment verification or any supporting documents required for approvals, unlimited support and a user's manual.#cpn#cpns#rentalpackage#helpmerent#credit#creditsweep#googlepics#googlesearch#instagramfeed#instapic#evictions#homeless#singlemother#singlefather#homelessfamily#homelesshelter#cpnrentalpackage#rentafterevictions

Man Hands Officer His License Then Speeds Away-/A Cape Coral man made it easy for officers to find him when he handed an officer his driver’s license before speeding off from a traffic stop.
30-year-old Vincent Parlato is charged with Flee and Eluding Law Enforcement and Resisting Law Enforcement Without Violence.
According to Cape Coral Police, in the early morning hours of February 10th, an officer witnessed a black Mustang making a U-turn at high speed, causing the tires to spin out. The officer followed the car, which hit 60 miles per hour in a 45-mph speed zone, and performed a traffic stop at the intersection of Santa Barbara Boulevard and Trafalgar Parkway. #policechase#wshh#getchaweightup#begger#bum#homeless#richbum#tablet#mcdonalds#wshh#getchaweightup

Does rectal fluid contain HIV?
In an HIV-positive person, the mucous membranes throughout the body can contain a lot of HIV. This is because these membranes are rich in immune cells, which are the cells that HIV likes to infect and replicate within. Since so much HIV replication can occur at the mucous membranes, the virus is able to enter the mucus that the membranes produce.
The mucous membranes of the rectum, and the mucus they produce (rectal fluid), are no exception. Several studies show that HIV can be found in the rectal fluid of a person living with HIV. In fact, one study of 64 HIV-positive men (of which about half were on antiretroviral therapy) found that, overall, the average amount of virus in their rectal fluid was higher than in their semen and blood.
Why might rectal fluid contain more HIV than other bodily fluids? It turns out that the majority of the immune cells in the body including the cells that are a major target for HIV are located in the mucous membranes of the gastrointestinal tract, which includes the rectum. There are a lot of immune cells in the gastrointestinal tract because it has a very large surface area. Also, a large number of immune cells are needed to help to protect the gut from the “foreign” germs in our food and to control the growth of the “friendly” germs living in our gut. The high concentration of immune cells means that the majority of HIV replication in someone with HIV may be happening in the gastrointestinal tract, including the rectum. This may explain why so much HIV can be found in the rectal fluid. Rectal fluid has implications for HIV transmission through anal sex when the HIV-negative person is the insertive partner (that is, inserts their penis into a partner’s anus). Research show that this type of anal sex can carry a significant risk of HIV transmission. Rectal fluid undoubtedly contributes to the risk of HIV transmission through anal sex where the insertive partner is HIV negative.

A portion of the proceeds raised through Charlie Sheen's charity campaign, "Stay Positively Negative" will benefit the Elton John Aids Foundation. "The Foundation has 24 years of expertise in the fight against HIV. We are now one of the largest, most respected and ‘can-do’ charities in our field. We have made it our mission from the start to help those who are most stigmatised by society because they are living with, or at high risk of HIV, by providing them with the means to protect themselves, access medicine and get on with their lives. We believe everyone is entitled to dignity, respect and compassion." -- Elton John Aids Foundation

Research shows that while most Americans understand how HIV is transmitted, fear, discrimination and misperceptions continue to hamper progress against the disease. In fact, stigma associated with HIV is major barrier to HIV prevention efforts. For example, stigma often keeps those at risk for HIV from using condoms or seeking testing. As well, those diagnosed with HIV are often less likely to seek the care and treatment they need to stay healthy, prolong their lives and avoid transmitting HIV to others.
By helping to reduce stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV, and educating Americans about HIV risk and how to prevent it. WE CAN END HIV IF:
all gay, bi and queer guys who are sexually active are staying safe – condoms still provide the most effective barrier for preventing the transmission of HIV and other STIs.
those same guys test at least twice a year, more often if they’re not staying safe.
people living with HIV treat as early as possible, to protect their own health and, if possible, reduce their viral loads to undetectable so the risk of passing on HIV during unprotected sex is radically reduced.
everyone fights HIV stigma – uncompromisingly.

There were approximately 36.7 million people worldwide living with HIV/AIDS at the end of 2016. Of these, 2.1 million were children (<15 years old).
An estimated 1.8 million individuals worldwide became newly infected with HIV in 2016 – about 5,000 new infections per day. This includes 160,000 children (<15 years). Approximately 70% of people living with HIV globally were aware of their HIV status in 2016. The remaining 30% (over 11 million people) still need access to HIV testing services. HIV testing is an essential gateway to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support services.
As of June 2017, 20.9 million people living with HIV were accessing antiretroviral therapy (ART) globally, up from 15.8 million in June 2015, 7.5 million in 2010, and less than one million in 2000.
1 million people died from AIDS-related illnesses in 2016, bringing the total number of people who have died from AIDS-related illnesses since the start of the epidemic to 35.0 million

Hiv/Aids is No Joke. Be Smart, Stay Safe. People living with HIV are increasingly experiencing a range of non-AIDS-related co-morbidities as the population ages, including cardiovascular disease, kidney impairment and bone loss leading to fractures, according to research presented at the IDWeek 2016 meeting in New Orleans in October.
Thanks to effective antiretroviral therapy (ART), more HIV-positive people in the US and Europe are surviving to older ages. Estimates indicate that nearly half of people living with HIV in the US are aged 50 or older. While some research has found that HIV-positive people who were treated promptly with modern ART may have a life expectancy close to that of HIV-negative individuals, those who developed advanced immune deficiency or were treated with suboptimal therapy often have ongoing health problems.
Studies have shown that people with HIV are at higher risk for developing chronic non-AIDS conditions such as heart disease and cancer, and they may do so at younger ages. Some of these conditions have been linked to specific antiretroviral drugs, including kidney impairment and bone loss with tenofovir (Viread) and cardiovascular events with abacavir (Ziagen). HIV patients have multiple non-AIDS-related comorbidities, including risk factors for renal impairment, cardiovascular disease, and fracture/osteoporosis," the researchers concluded. "Among treated HIV patients, the prevalence of comorbidities is increasing over time, especially renal, bone and cardiovascular comorbidities."

Within any community, the prevalence of HIV can vary among different populations.
Gay and bisexual men have the largest number of new diagnoses in the United States. Blacks/African Americans and Hispanics/Latinos are disproportionately affected by HIV compared to other racial and ethnic groups. Also, transgender women who have sex with men are among the groups at highest risk for HIV infection, and injection drug users remain at significant risk for getting HIV.
Risky behaviors, like having anal or vaginal sex without using a condom or taking medicines to prevent or treat HIV, and sharing needles or syringes play a big role in HIV transmission. Anal sex is the highest-risk sexual behavior. If you don’t have HIV, being a receptive partner (or bottom) for anal sex is the highest-risk sexual activity for getting HIV. If you do have HIV, being the insertive partner (or top) for anal sex is the highest-risk sexual activity for transmitting HIV.
Transgender women are 49 times more likely to be living with HIV than the general population. While transgender men are less likely to be HIV positive than transgender women, their infection rates are higher than those of the general population. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) suggests that certain risk factors are directly associated with transphobia, and the marginalization faced by transgender people can contribute to such high infection rates. These risk factors include "higher rates of drug and alcohol abuse, sex work, incarceration, homelessness, suicide attempts, unemployment, lack of family support, violence, stigma and discrimination, limited access to health care, and negative experiences during medical care appointments. " Essentially, because they live in a society where there is significant stigma and discrimination against transgender people, they are forced into situations that greatly increase their risk of contracting HIV and severely limit their chances of obtaining adequate medical care once that are infected.

We’re always grateful for our fellow students taking the time out of their schedules to join us and provide for the patients at NSO! Thank you to these three for coming out - we hope to see you again very soon! . What we do at NSO: Every Friday afternoon, Detroit Street Care volunteers host a clinic at the NSO Tumaini Center to provide shelter residents with access to healthcare, including exams and medications, at no cost. For many of the residents, this is their only access to basic healthcare services. Although he was originally from Stockton, the victim’s family denied his return there as a condition of his parole. #becausetheymatter #nycscr #fifilaroux #saveme #adoptme #homeless #fostercare #adoptdontshop #loveme

Proverbs 14:31 says: Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honors him. No reason should we not stretch our hands open our brother and sister in dyer need. We have homes, food on our table, clothes to wear. We may take these for granted but others have none of the above. Starter rental Package $325 This package will allow anyone to rent without a fico score but may require a hefty deposit once approved. The starter package comes with a tri-merged cpn, employment verification or any supporting documents required for approvals, unlimited support and a user's manual.#cpn #cpns #rentalpackage #helpmerent #credit #creditsweep #googlepics #googlesearch #instagramfeed #instapic #evictions #homeless #singlemother #singlefather #homelessfamily #homelesshelter #cpnrentalpackage #rentafterevictions
Padre's World: Here is a sample of the music and singing that was on display for the Glory of the Triune God for the Absolam Jones celebration as we reflected on what it means to be the Beloved Community. I am so proud of Ernie and the Free Spirit Gospel Choir as they sang their heart out and I am so proud of my wife Monique for singing today as well. The Lord has blessed The Episcopal Church of St John the Baptist with such gifts and so if you want to hear more of this variety, then come and visit us on Sundays at 10 am for our blended worship service. We are located at 1000 Bethune Dr in Washington Shores. Today's celebration was held at All Saints Episcopal Church in Winter Park. Visit that wonderful church too. #policechase #wshh #getchaweightup #begger #bum #homeless #richbum #tablet #mcdonalds #wshh #getchaweightup

PrEP: Short for “pre-exposure prophylaxis,” PrEP is an HIV prevention strategy in which HIV-negative people take an oral pill once a day before coming into contact with HIV to reduce their risk of HIV infection. PrEP must be taken for at least 7 days to reach optimal levels of protection against HIV.

WE CAN END HIV IF: all gay, bi and queer guys who are sexually active are staying safe – condoms still provide the most effective barrier for preventing the transmission of HIV and other STIs. those same guys test at least twice a year, more often if they’re not staying safe. people living with HIV treat as early as possible, to protect their own health and, if possible, reduce their viral loads to undetectable so the risk of passing on HIV during unprotected sex is radically reduced. everyone fights HIV stigma – uncompromisingly.
Stay SAFE, play it SMART 💡🙏🏻 Condom before contact Always put on the condom before there's any contact between the penis and the vagina, mouth or anus. PrEP must be taken for at least 7 days to reach optimal levels of protection against HIV. PEP must be started within 72 hours after HIV exposure.

Most of these children live in sub-Saharan Africa and were infected by their HIV-positive mothers during pregnancy, childbirth or breastfeeding. Approximately 70% of people living with HIV globally were aware of their HIV status in 2016. The remaining 30% (over 11 million people) still need access to HIV testing services. HIV testing is an essential gateway to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support services.
