Do you ever feel yourself wondering what everyone else saw after waiting in line to experience that "amazing must-do thing"? Traveling just to travel or because you heard a place is a "must-see" can lead you to wasting some precious vacation time just to check off a box. And despite the hype, you may come away feeling a little empty inside. Try to get to know yourself first! What are your interests and hobbies? Is there a way where you could bring those passions with you on your next trip? Maybe you enjoy Broadway shows. Take the extra time to plan your visit to a city when a cultural show is in town. Do you enjoy hiking? Schedule in some time to get out of the city for a local hike. Or maybe sustainable fashion is your cup of tea. Research beforehand to see if there are fashion shows or eco-conscious shops that you can add to your itinerary! Doing things you specifically enjoy while traveling will create more personal and enriching experiences. Plus, you may get to meet people from different backgrounds with similar passions and create meaningful relationships! P.S. When Maggie and I travel, we always look for hipster healthy restaurants, epic hikes, rock climbing, theater shows, and of course escape rooms like the one shown here while we were in Virginia (we escaped 15 min early 🏆 nbd). What about you guys? What personal interests would you love to include in your next travel itinerary???
