Lunch at Monster Phở. One of SF Eaters top 13 Vietnamese Restaurants in Oakland. . . . Simple put, pretty fucking tasty pho! This dish took me way back to the first time I had Pho as a kid. I was living in Germany and I was 10 years old and my friend Juliet invited me to have dinner. I remember Juliet’s mom giving me this big steaming bowl of soup with noodles and raw meat. Juliet told me not to worry about the raw meat and that the hot broth would cook it. I remember devouring that bowl of pho and wanting more. I also started to crushing on Juliet that day. She and her mom introduced me to a world of food outside of my usual culture and I was able to experience something new. . . . Back to the present, the broth was super tasty and I opted to respect that bitch so I didn’t dump shit into it. I wanted it pure...I just added a few jalapeños and a squeeze of lime juice. That’s all it needed. Also, I wanted to mention that the service was fast and excellent. When I got there the restaurant was packed. If you’re in Oakland, check this place out and respect their broth and don’t put too much shit in it because it’s that good! #oaklandcalifornia #vietnamesefood #foodporn #foodie #foodoninstagram #noodles #pho
