Sometimes life gets tough and your world gets so noisy that you forget to listen to the whispers from your soul saying “you got this”. Sometimes we forget we’re exactly where we’re supposed to be and magic is right around the corner. Sometimes we think we’re so far behind, that we’re not “enough” and we “can’t do it”. 🙏🏻 . I hear you, I see you and I’ve been there myself. But I’m also blessed and super grateful to have a small group of “Soul Sisters”. It’s so important to surround yourself with people who support you whether you’re sinking or swimming, are super confident or are hiding under the cover in tears. It’s important to have someone or someone’s who remind you “you are more than enough”, you’re stronger than you think and perfect just the way you are no matter how messy, broken, ambitious or quirky you are. 🙏🏻 . Let’s share the love going into the weekend. Tag someone below who is your “Soul Sister”, who inspires you to keep going, supports your creative ideas and is ready with a glass of wine or a cup of tea when life throws a curveball. Thank you @pinkieout !
I am Fearless. I am Focused. I am Ready. Amplify your voice and own your power. Never let anyone make you doubt what is uniquely you. Be comfortable taking risks and know that fear has no place in your success equation (other than to propel you forward). Be fearless. Be focused. You are totally ready.
We each have our own set of unique gifts and talents that we've been given to share with this world. We've each had our own set of unique experiences, life lessons and failures that we've learned from and have grown from. Together these things can help us to discover what we are truly meant to do on this planet. If we listen and connect the pieces together we can take our dreams and make them a reality. ⠀ ⠀ I always had a tough time figuring out which direction to go and what to do until I listened to what life was telling me. I’ve failed at things many times over, I’ve learned how to do all sorts of cool stuff and for the longest time was never able to figure out how to put it all together until I started to listen. Whether you're an author, a doctor, an artist, a teacher or whatever you are called to do, you're journey has brought you to this moment in time. It's not necessarily about "what" you are doing but "why" you decided to do the thing that you do and what brought you to this point. Your experiences and your journey is uniquely yours and I’m sure you have all sorts of things you can help and teach others based on the gifts you’ve been given. All you need to do is be authentically you, do your own thing and carve your own path.
One of the best pieces of advice I've ever received is "Start way before you ever think you're ready." The best time for new beginnings is NOW and since it's a new year this is your permission slip to just be you and take that first step. So I'll go first, here's what I'm going to be starting. I'm going to be cooking more (should be interesting), promising to do more live video to share all the valuable, creative content in my brain with all of you and dedicating more time to rest and rejuvenate. In the past several years I got away from giving myself time to rest and as a result my creativity and my health suffered BIG TIME. Now it's your turn. So tell me, what is your new beginning? What are you going to start doing this year. I'm in this with you so let’s do this together! ⠀
Fresh brewed coffee, Mimosas and quiet time in the morning to reflect on the past year and talk about our dreams and goals (especially vacations and house projects) for the new year are my favorite things to do with my husband on New Years Day. 2017 was definitely a year of new beginnings, putting things into perspective and learning to let go and trust the process. There are lots of new, exciting things coming for 2018 and I just want to thank all of you for being on this journey with me. My new focus for 2018 includes finding reasons (no matter how big or small) to celebrate, taking time to rest and rejuvenate, cooking more at home (my husband will be doing this part) and focusing on what is possible. Here’s to 2018, a year that will be filled with many new opportunities, good health, peace, love and lots of joy! What’s one thing you’re looking forward to doing in 2018?
Merry Christmas to all!! Last night in church we had two little kids point at my husband and say “ho ho”. May the magic and light of Christmas and the holiday season bring you lots of love, joy and many blessings. 🎄🙏🏻
“Whatever you do in life...remember...think higher, and feel deeper. Life is not a fist. Life is an open hand waiting for some other hand to enter it in friendship. Ultimately, the answers are so simple. Not simplistic, but so simple.” -Elie Wiesel
When we were little it was tradition that my Mom and her best friend Vicki would get together to bake the most amazing Christmas cookies 🍪 Several pots of coffee, kids running in between grabbing the “duds”, snow storms, ovens breaking and heaps of laughter (I can still remember Vicki’s laugh) they would turn out hundreds of cookies they would share and give as gifts to others 🎁. The house always was filled with Christmas joy and the smell of cookies baking...pure heaven. Several years ago when Vicki passed my Mom lost a piece of her heart and could not bring herself to bake at the holiday. Many years went by without this tradition and it didn’t feel the same. A few years ago that changed when my Dad, me and my sister agreed to be stand in bakers and help her make her famous cookies once again. This is our new holiday tradition and it’s the best! We swapped the pots of coffee to some glasses of wine and Guiness. There’s always flour all over the kitchen and me plus my Mom (and now my Dad too) supervise as we are not quite the bakers as Vicki once was. But with the addition of our husbands we have comedy all day, loads of holiday cheer and Vicki’s spirit is always with us...probably chuckling at how goofy we are. Hug your loved ones tight and celebrate the holidays by spending time with friends and family. Embrace old traditions but also create new ones that bring joy. Tell me what is your favorite holiday tradition?
So many of us don’t want to try something new for fear of making a mistake. What we “name” something and the meaning we assign to it is what we believe it is. I challenge you to change your perspective and “rename” a mistake to a detour. Think of them as actually detours towards blessings. Mistakes happen when you’re reaching out of your comfort zone towards growth and change and achieving the things you want in your life. They are chances to teach us what we need to help us build our courage muscles. Everyone makes mistakes (and if they tell you they don't...well they aren't sharing the whole story). What makes you unique is how and if you get up, dust yourself off, learn what you need to learn and keep on moving forward. So start that project, start writing that book, give that speech, create that course...and if you make a mistake, well you know it’s just a detour pointing you to something better.
Ever since I was little I've always loved the holiday season, not just because of yummy cookies and decorating the tree. There is something about the holidays that always reminds me of what I am truly grateful for. I am grateful that I made the scary decision to get uncomfortable and step into Entrepreneurship. It’s been full of ups and downs and blessings. Not only do I get to meet and work with amazing people everyday, I also get to work where I feel most inspired, with slippers on, no crazy commute, my big messy bun and delicious coffee fresh brewed. I am blessed to witness people who have struggled for years finally achieve success (on their terms) in their business while becoming their best self. Over this past year I've learned a lot about myself, experienced immense transformation in my business and have found blessings in the struggle. I wouldn’t trade a single day of what it took to get here. I'm grateful for not having to do this journey alone, grateful for other people who are quirky, goofy and don't take themselves too seriously. I’m blessed for all of you for being a part of this dream.
“As within, so without”. Love you, all of you, so you can spread that love into this world that so needs it. Love You past, present and future with all the mistakes, wins, failures and celebrations. Love you first so you can love others and use your gifts to leave your mark on this world. Thank you @jameswedmore for this inspiration. Happy, relaxing Sunday!
The weekend is here and I’m steppin’ out with Santa for some holiday cheer! 🎄 My husband always does “no shave November” but with traveling so much for work lately he decided to let it go until the New Year. We literally get stopped by people who comment “I still believe in you Santa”. If you’ve ever met him you might think he really is Jolly St Nick with his belly laugh, his laid back personality and his magical ability to make things happen. Now I just need to find a red suit...and some reindeer...
Gosh, this feels so long ago, like a lifetime ago. I started martial arts training at 20 years old, scared to speak in front of people, totally not comfortable in my own skin and petrified of what people might think of me if I messed up (and I messed up). I always felt like everyone around me was way better and always came out with these amazing stories of inspiration. Every time I got up to teach I would freeze and that pit would be in my stomach because I didn’t like the sound of my voice and I was afraid that I wasn’t explaining things right. Every time I got called on to spar in front of the class I dreaded getting out there because I totally stank at it. 🙏🏻 But I didn’t stop, I didn’t quit. I kept going and I kept showing up. I wasn’t the greatest but I was determined to learn and be the best I could be so that I could teach others what I knew myself. Eventually, I found my groove and the area that I could excel in but it took many tries and many falls. Looking at this picture reminds me of something my Master would say to me "he who conquers himself is the greatest warrior". What started out as me trying to prove myself to others turned into the greatest “school of life experience” I could ever attend. It turned into me finding my voice, finding the courage inside and learning one of the most valuable skills, perseverance. No matter what goals or dreams you are working towards in your business and in life, perseverance is one of the most important things you need. It keeps you moving forward no matter what. 🙏🏻 When you’re doing the things that most won’t even try it won’t always be easy, you might fall, you might fail but you always have to get back up, dust yourself off and try again. So when that little negative voice sneaks in and tries to tell you that you can’t do something or you aren’t good enough...smile and just say “thank you but I got this”.
It’s December 1st can you believe it! If you’ve started your planning for next year or you’re creating a plan to finish some goals for this year here’s an important thing to keep in mind. We are constantly growing, changing and evolving. We’re always learning new things, letting go of things that aren’t serving us and focusing on being the best version of ourselves we can be. Don’t plan things and build dreams based on your current circumstances because where you are today isn’t where you’ll be 6 months from now. Plan and build for where you want to go and create that amazing vision for your life because what we believe is what becomes our reality. For more helpful business tips check out the link in my bio.
