if you’ve ever done yoga before, you’ve probably heard this mentioned in class. yogis are often encouraged to take what they need from the cues that are offered, and do what feels best in their bodies on that day. • • how can we apply this wisdom off of our mats and into our day to day? when was the last time you asked yourself what do you need? this question is the foundation of self care, and it’s massively important. it applies to sleep and rest, food (including satisfaction and nourishment), intensity and frequency of movement, relationships, work, hobbies, boundaries.... the list is endless. • • it can be so powerful to stop thinking about what you should do, and start doing what feels best. sure, some decisions/choices/ actions will be out of necessity, but don’t limit yourself to think in black and white terms. what can you give to yourself? what do you need? so today and all days, how can you take this wisdom and use it to take care of yourself?
