Sand dunes rolled off into the distance, seemingly melting into the ocean that laid on the horizon. Could probably spend a day just wandering through them and seeing what laid over every mountain of sand.
Wilson’s Promontory is one of those places that you never can say you’ve seen it all.🔍 After travelling here every year for 10 years I thought I’d happily been there and done that. 🤦🏼♂️ Until my friend mentioned the “giant desert” To be honest at first I thought he meant an🍦 as he looked a little hungry. Sadly or not this place has to be seen to be believed.
Coming around the bend you’ll be greeted with a sheer wall of sand... Even though I knew it was coming I was still shocked at what was waiting for us at the top of that wall.
On the road again. After stumbling through what was probably only 4 minutes of being “lost” we found the path again and headed on our way back to warmth. 👌🏻
“The trail goes cold.” In this case this could refer to the fact we were trudging through fresh snow.. or the fact the sun was going down fast. But rather it was the fact it completely dissolved from in front of us and we got really really lost 😅.
Bashing through the back country with your mates 👌🏻 always a good time with these guys and girls.
🌲❄️🏔. Finally starting to feel like summer is coming. I’m sure I’ll miss the cold weather soon but bring on the ☀️ for now.
🏔🌲🌨 Snowshoeing may look like you are wearing tennis rackets for shoes but damn does it make you feel exactly like that 😂 Walking definitely took some adjusting to, especially when the path cut its way back down into the valley. Was made worth it though with the spectacular views we were greeted with. 👌🏻
Peaking out between the trees you could just see the mountain range rolling off into the mist.
❄️🌿 When walking the trail it was easy to get carried away with the rolling hills across the valley or the towering tree lines. During a rest in the snow (more commonly known as falling over) I saw this little guy just poking through the snow cover. The details are easy to miss but definitely create a sense of isolation when removed from the grandeur of their scenery.
First stop on our snow shoe adventure through the woods. 🌲🏔🌲.
Winter Wonderland. ❄️
Story time. Our crew took two cars up the mountain. One was this beast. The other was my astra. Half way up we ran into a blizzard and had our vision reduced to effectively zero. After a slow crawl through the mountain pass we made it to our chalet. My god was it worth it though, two days of sitting by a fireplace and chatting with old friends was the perfect break from work and uni. 👌🏻🏔🌨
Crew goals 👌🏻🏔🌨🏔
