II InstaFame II A little over 6 months ago I started a project titled InstaFame. It was to investigate how social media is impacting the Australian Landscape. . I quickly learnt that my project was bigger than I thought but I had some amazing support of people in the landscape community and my amazing colleagues at RMIT University. . I was a trophy hunter so to speak, shooting postcard images and I’ve had to find my place in the industry, I still haven’t quite found myself. . My project will divide opinion, but it’s unbiased, I want to be a landscape photographer, it’s not about blame, it’s about change. I’ve changed by seeing the photos now as proof, before and afters. . I don’t claim to have the answers, I just investigated some locations. I guess the only suggestion I have is maybe we make geotagging a thing of history. Put a region or state rather than a location. . It’s not about not visiting these places, and visiting the beautiful Australian Landscape, it’s about protecting it. . I’d love to hear your thoughts, positive and negative. If you have ideas on how we can all do our part, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
