It’s time to stock up those carts for the new school year! This year my cart is full of Social Emotional Learning and Inquiry Projects. I’d love to know what you’re looking for this year!
This has been a season of unintentional slow down. After rushing through the school year I went into pre-term labour 2 weeks ago (at only 24 weeks!) My June schedule went from being completely backed to forcibly emptied. Definitely learning the value of slowing down. My calendar is now almost completely empty, so I’m trying to embrace this season of rest and totally recharge.
We still have 17 school days left up here in B.C., 🇨🇦. One of my favourite ways to count down to the end is by giving each student a chance to be celebrated and recognized as a VIP in the classroom. We come up with the privileges together as a group and then each student gets one day as VIP before the year is done. 🌟
Is there anything better than a fresh box of crayons? Today I’m hard at work prepping and creating new lessons and these babies are my motivation! What school supply is your must-have as a teacher?
The final product was 😍 from all the kiddos! This one is easy - paint a sunset (dark-light gradient... but not all end up following 🙈) then add your chosen animal in a setting. Silhouette the animal using black construction paper and glue. Easy peasy! #artlessonsforkids
Sometimes student art turns out exactly as you envision... and other times you’re just thankful that art is subjective.
It finally feels like spring on the West Coast. Sending sunshine to all of you in the east. May that sunshine come out SOON! 🌷🌤🌱
Matter unit had begun. Also, I am so annoyed by the mistake on the first poster... but chart paper is in short supply right now so I can’t re-do it (and I reaaaally want to 🙈) 😂
