#winterreading five great books I’m reading one of the most beautiful books EVER #anothergreenworld with contributions by great artist alison Turnbull just started #aneducationinhappiness which seems to be wonderful not read yet #herrschaftderdinge a subject I’ve been thinking al lot about lately how it comes that mankind more and more seems to identify through possession of things #keyserling whose shortstories I didn’t like but fell in love with the first two novellas and the #allanjenkins intense and somewhat sadder lifestory than the german cover implies
I still design a little bit for the #koeniglichegartenakademie I’m the only freelance designer in their team. whenever I’m there I always go next-door to the #technischeuniversitaet department plant usage. They have a wonderful woodland garden where I love to stroll. one thing I really love designing for koenigliche gartenakademie is having to find the right pavements and stones for the pathways of the different houses which doesn’t come easy to me for traditionell houses. The design team there is extremely knowledgeable in that. Here the church in our village where I got married to my partner in 2017, never noticed the pavement before.
I almost stumbled today over this stone in the pavement a ‚stumbling stone‘ (Stolperstein) one of 70.000 in Europe and Russia, a german initiative that started in 1992 remembering victims of the Holcoust. It is in fact the largest decentralised memorial on earth. Stumbling over these like I did today and realizing each time that we will never forget helps me reconcile myself with the german past. #stolpersteine #stolperstein #stolpersteineputzen
