Today marks the official end of the field season for us at Redwood National and State Parks. Needless to say, it was an incredible summer working as a botanist for Save the Redwoods League’s pilot year of the Redwoods Rising program. I am so stoked to have shared this time with talented botanists @kale.latke and @rrthompson. Together, we monitored rare plants and worked to map and remove invasive species throughout Redwood National and State Parks, improving hundreds of acres of stream habitat, stands of old growth redwood, and oak woodlands. These areas serve as critical habitat for diverse flora and fauna and are home to some of the most threatened communities of plants and animals in California. Best wishes to the two of you going forward, it was truly a pleasure.
