Bees make honey. A student from my class brought this in for everyone to have a try.

• 2 C • M U S I C • H I S T O R Y • D A Y • Our class had a special music history day. We got to dress up and bring an instrument into class. We learnt what music was, the history of musical styles and the history of listening to music. There were team trivia challenges with our music groups; The Gramophones, Record Setters, Cassette Tapes and Compact Discs. In the afternoon, we teamed up with the brilliant 5/6O in the hall to make our own music in collaborative groups. It was a great day!
Some schools from the Byron Bay Area came (not to job swap 😔), but to see how our school implements Visible Learning and Formative Assessment. I did an Art Feedback lesson on some Mistake Artwork we had done. Students gave peer feedback and then reflected on their own works. The visiting teachers kindly brought gifts from their local area - honey, biscuits and best of all coffee. ☕️☕️☕️ #visiblelearning #formativeassessment #honey #sweet #feedback #byronbay
🌵 2 0 1 8 🌵Year of the Cactus 🌵 Cactus /kaktəs/ noun 1. A phylum of plants that has evolved to live in arid conditions 2. dead, not functioning #onpoint #staysharp #cactus #cactii #lookforthejoy #beprickly #gocactus #2Cin2018 #stickwithit 🌵🌸🌺🌼 2018 has certainly been the year of the cactus. A year of growing and a year of having things go cactus. But, I think that you just need perspective - even on the worst days that everything goes cactus, there is always the possibility for joy. If you look for it! Just like a prickly cactus can hurt you, but also produce beautiful flowers, or store much needed water. This year has had the good and the bad. I secured a permanent teaching position but also went to the doctor the most times this year. Ever. I became an Aunt and spent both the beginning and the end of the year in sunny Darwin! I had challenges in my classroom and with tech, but saw immense growth. ‘Cactus’ has been the theme in my classroom this year, and the kids certainly embraced it. Cactus makes perfect! (Seen through the somewhat overwatering of some cacti in our classroom) Happy New Year! Stay sharp, be prickly, and look for the joy. Sometimes things go cactus. You just have to stick with it.
• P E R M A N E N T • It has taken me a while to post, but I am excited that I have a permanent job at my school. Really, nothing has changed that much, except I don’t need to worry about next year. So that is pretty nice 😊👌🏻👩🏻🏫📚🖍✏️❤️👩🏻💻🌵I’m stuck like concrete now. #anotherdollaranotherday #imwalkingtheexactsameway #livingthedreaminthislitschoolbythesea #stuckherepermanently Lit lyrics by @fleaandme

Term 3 is going to be scent-sational!
In Geography, we learned our addresses, and how to write them properly on an envelope. A student sent me this tiny letter (that we had used for practicing addresses) in the actual mail, and it arrived!
My Stage went on an excursion to Killalea State Park, which is right near where I live. How good would this be if it was your office?! 👌🏻🌊
