Had such blast with @pepperlive in Tahoe. Great music, great vibes, great Ohana to share it with.
The Core 4 reunited for a few rehearsals and a show. It felt amazing to experience the solid pocket the music dropped into effortlessly. So fun!
I wake up every day and take stock of what I feel gratitude for. May 11th always marks an emotional day for me, as the commemoration of the gift of Bob Marley's music and how he lived. It's easy for us to remember the popularity and uniqueness of his music, but sometimes we forget that at the root of his creative spirit is the powerful call to rebellion against the forces of evil. That fundamental part of what informs his songwriting and the nature of Reggae's power, is that it is a call to action! Reggae music is not pop, it is the soundtrack of revolution. The snap of the Snare drum, fires a warning shot to all evil doers. The power of the masses cannot be denied. The power of music to unite us in the struggle for human dignity, and reparations for the people of Africa. On this day of recognition of Bob's journey home 37 years ago, I sit and reflect on the things he fought and died for, and the musical legacy that Reggae music must uphold. The passing of the flesh cannot stop the power of the spirit. We are blessed and I am grateful. The people remember, and our soul and spirit knows the blessing of this musical sacrament. #gratitude #remember #livecleanletyourworksbeseen
