#FBF to 2016—the season I won my pro card...bts pics from the lost files ⬅️ it was probably my favorite year as a competitor because mentally I was 💯with an attitude that it was absolutely going to be my year to turn pro. Next time I compete, I will be 💯 too—with an attitude of it will be my year to xyz...oh, and I can tell you without making idle promises that I will return to the stage with a new look—as a blond 💇 🔹random note🔹I’m getting my makeup done professionally this next weekend for the first time as a blond actually (for a benefit gala) and I wonder if the colors and amount of makeup are different, guess I will see. Maybe I’ll get some good tips. I will also need some ideas for suit color. Maybe a kelly green, violet fuschia purple, blue? 🤔
Who needs a tiara when you can wear a bow? This top might be almost kitschy, but I think the muted shade of pink saves it. I will say that I’m definitely enjoying my non gym clothes more recently and having a bit more fun with them. Yes I’ve been MIA with the workout/food posts you’ve come to expect, but I have actually been focusing on training just the same as I have in any other off season, and same with eating. However, I want to keep the focus off a return to stage until I’m ready to get ready...for now, I’ve got a few trips and events coming up, so hopefully I will have some fun things to share from those. I’m going all out for the galas with hair/makeup/spray tan appointments (does someone miss the stage glam 😂?). And pretty soon I might post an update on 👶 goals 2019. 🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹 This weekend: volunteering with People and Pets Together. Next weekend: Gala to benefit the Angel Foundation. Super Bowl weekend: trip to Vegas Feb 9th: Date weekend in Chicago March or April, still going to Italy for a week. April 13: Gala to benefit People Serving People (love volunteering there too) 🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹sweater byTiMo, bag Louis Vuitton, boots Born, jeans Target.
Hello 2019! Most who follow my IG found me as a fitness account, a pro bikini competitor. And for almost 6 years (2.5 as a pro) I competed almost non-freaking-stop. But now I’m settled into the groove of my first real and much needed break from the stage. When I compete again, I know my body and mind will be so refreshed though. My big plans for this break include more travel and a baby (number one goal). Why am I not competing while trying for a baby? Well, a couple reasons—wouldn’t it suck to be halfway through prep and find out you’d be sporting a baby bump on show day?😂 also, not sure the two goals work well with each other for me at least—I had to wait several months post-show to get my cycle back anyway #TMIbutwhocares So this is real life...being healthy, living a fit lifestyle and shaping my body in a way to improve as a competitor—but not seeing the shreds for a while. When I compete again, I need to have a tighter waist, fuller glutes, and sleeker arms. Patience is not my strong suit, but I have some plans that will make it worth it. It’ll happen, I promise. To be honest, even when I get back onstage, I probably won’t compete year round the way I would have to in order to qualify for the Olympia now, but I’ll make some good goals for myself like winning a big show like the NY Pro perhaps. 🔹🔹🔹current workout routine: training 5-6 days per week with 20 min cardio and about 45 min weight training. I have been doing about 50% of workouts from the Booty by Bret program and about 50% are lighter workouts I create (more bands and abs and glute isolation).🔹🔹🔹nutrition: tracking macros and maintaining current weight which is my typical “off season” weight. I’m eating a bit less protein than when I am in prep, trying to eat more healthy fats and fresh veggies/salads. My skin is thanking me for it. I follow some models on YouTube and IG, and that seems to be how they get their glow. 🔹🔹🔹2019 plans. I’m super excited about a few trips we have planned: Italy in March or April, possibly Hawaii in May, a weekend getaway to Chicago in Feb with a Michelin 3 star dinner 🍴, and a family get-together in the Colorado mountains in July. 🔹🔹🔹Continued in comments
Happy holidays from all of Santa’s elves. Christmas 🎄 with the in-laws was great, and I’m more than excited about everything in store for 2019.
I hope you stay grounded. Let me tell you a little story. Backstage at a regional NPC show I was competing in before I turned pro, I remember overhearing a bikini pro who was coaching girls at the show saying “jeez, I could easily win this show and I’m in off season.” A couple years later, 3 of us competing that day were Olympians...2 of us doing the same show as her, getting called out before her. So point one of the story, are you really better than anyone else because of where you are TODAY? The other thing I thought about when our driver in Germany talked about some celebrities he has driven. He mentioned how a lot of them brag about expensive things and money a lot. And I was thinking that they have to be doing that because they are insecure—they are not used to having those things. Sooo, my point is let’s just enjoy what we have/where we are and let people either see our worth or not. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
For our last day in Germany, we are enjoying a private tour of Rothenburg. The weather isn’t quite cooperating 🌧 ❄️ but 🤷♀️ it has been a great vacation with tons of activities and sightseeing. I know I’ll be busy making up for time away from work when I get back...but more exciting things in the weeks to come...
You won’t see me on stage again until 2020 at least. I bet there will be a whole new group of faces and competitors by then. The bikini division is evolving, but so am I. 🔹One more day in Germany and I’m ready to enjoy our tour of Cologne and Limburg...because life things first🔹
Day 2.5 in Germany. Taking in all of the sights. What should we do tomorrow?
Heidelberg castle with my king 🤴. There were some spectacular views, and the old city of Heidelberg had some cute little shops where we stopped for really good ☕️.
Now that Pepper has your attention...click over to the link in my bio to make a quick donation to @people_and_pets_together I recently started volunteering at this wonderful organization that provides a pet food/supplies shelf for low income pet owners and also offers pet healthcare resources and emergency medical care funds. Knowing that what I could have spent on a couple lattes will feed a little guy like Pepp for a month...priceless #dogs #donate #rescue #pets #peopleandpetstogether #nonprofit #adoptdontshop #mansbestfriend #dogsofinstagram #charity #fundraising #giveback
What are your top 3 favorite glute exercises that don’t require fancy equipment or machines? Let’s start a booty workout idea thread here. Haha. I actually followed the #gluteworkout hashtag for some good ideas also. I’d say my faves (without any fancy machines—I’ve been training at pretty basic gyms mostly in the last few months in Minneapolis) are: 1. Hip thrusts on the hamstring curl machine. 2. Stiff leg deadlifts with a lighter weight for lots of reps—often only coming partially up to top—lower glutes burn! 3. Hip abductor machine—just can’t go as heavy for the outer glutes with bands. Alright, what are some more good ones?
#fbf to the Olympia stage...getting there reminds me never to doubt that I am in control of my destiny. Those dreams and plans that others might laugh at or deride can still be yours to achieve. 📷 Pro League News #bikinicompetitor #bikinipro #npc #ifbbbikini #ifbbpro
