WHY YOU NEED TO SLOW DOWN COMING BACK TO THE GYM # Man. You ever take an extended break from the gym, come back, expecting to attack it like Harambe breaking out of the zoo? # You go to your workout, thinking you can do the same weights you did before you left, and your joints feel as stiff as a pole. # That was me today. After coming back from Toronto for @c3canada national conference, I came into the gym feeling stiffer than normal. # Long story short, a couple movements later my upper back tightened up after so much sitting, then going into some overhead work. # So instead of making the same mistakes, LEARN FROM MY MISTAKES # Take a longer warm up. Just getting the body moving is a world of good. Spending more time moving your shoulders, neck and hips will do your body a world of good, reducing the likelihood of injury. # DON’T feel like you need to go HAM. You didn’t lose muscle over 1-3 weeks. It’s going to help you in the long term if you just ease back into training. Slow and steady wins the race friends. # Don’t be a dummy. Take your time after a break from the gym.
