🤣 happy Sunday everyone!
These flowers, Marigolds or Calendula officinalis, were given to me as seeds by a patient. They sprouted🌱 and flourished amidst this hot summer and my failed attempts at regular watering. They are hardy! #mykindofplant But this plant known in the natural medicine world as Calendula and is an awesome antimicrobial for the skin..especially for minor cuts and wounds. But I have also used it on other skin issues like eczema and psoriasis. So as these blooms start to die, I am drying the petals and attempting my own herbal tincture to add into some salves. Also my heart was happy to see this honey bee on my marigolds (Calendula officinalis)! 🐝 #savethebees
Another book off my list @thebriantracy #noexcuses I am not excluded from excuses... I mean, I have kids and a hubby, I run my own business, and I feel like I can be drowning in excuses, every moment of every day.... But you just have to find out what is important, like REALLY important to you that will move you further towards your goals and what you want in your life. And make effective use of your time. So I do less of what really doesn't matter (cleaning and tidying up.. I mean that doesn't last long with kids and a dog anyway) and do more of what does. 💖
It is easy and comforting to hide behind the excuses.. "I'm too tired, I don't have time, I'm too old, I don't have the money, I can't because I kids"... etc. etc., but if you want something to change, you must move beyond the excuses which are usually covering deeper fears that are truly holding you back. 💗

Mmmmmmmmm.. one of my new faves teas! A beautiful deep magenta colour and packed with tons of antioxidants. Why are antioxidants important? °anti aging and reduces wrinkles °helps to protects against diseases like heart disease °helps to protects cells when exposed to sunlight, inhale smoke and other chemicals in the environment #antioxidants @tradmedicinals #hibiscus tea
Healing is a journey. There are many downs as you steady on upwards.. improving how you feel and what you learn along the way is worth the efforts, discomforts and pain.
Came across this giant prickly Milk thistle plant ( Silybum marianum ) on our walk today. This is an amazingly powerful plant in herbal medicine because the active medicinal compound called Silymarin, in therapeutic dosages can regenerate liver cells and is overall supportive for this organ. If you take a lot of medications, eat a diet high in sugars, feel like you are more sensitive to chemical scents, can't handle your alcohol like you used to or overall feel crappy... giving your liver is always a good idea.. An easy way to have it is in a tea form.. make sure it is milk thistle SEED tea. #silybummarianum #silybum #milkthistle #tea
Loving these @zokuhq popsicle moulds! I have been making smoothie pops and the kids love them. Such a fast, easy and healthy meal. The best part is they peel right off because they are silicone. This recipe: Strawberries Pineapple Avocado Protein powder Water
First aid remedies in full effect for this girl right now... 💕🌱 Had a GREAT mountain bike ride yesterday afternoon.🚴♀️ It was only my second time out in probably 7 years. I had some awesome runs and hit some jumps but also had some good wipe outs🤕 Check my stories and IGtv to explain my treatment protocol.. Next time I know: 1. When fatigued, don't push to do another trail because that is when mistakes are likely to occur. 2. It's feels awesome to try something new (again) that forces you to be vulnerable, learn a new skill and experience the mistakes ( a.k.a epic wipeouts) and then learn from those mistakes. 3. Don't do a morning run if going biking in the afternoon.. conserve energy! #haroldstown #moutainbike #longskirtsformeforawhile
Featured in the The Pulse for my article on The Anxiety - Gut Brain Connection. The health of your digestive system directly affects your mental well being.. whether it's anxiety, depression, irritability etc. It's not just the quality of foods you eat are important but also how effective your digestive system is at breaking down those foods, and metabolizing it for your cells to use. If you feel bloated, have heartburn, have diarrhea or constipation, stomach pain, or feel tired after eating, it's likely your digestive system could be improved.. and as welcomed side effect so will your mental health💡 Alternatively, your mental health can affect your gut.. chronic stress, feeling overwhelmed and adrenal fatigue can change the functioning of your digestive system to cause certain digestive issues, loss of appetite, ulcers, or irritable bowel syndrome. So don't overlook taking care of your gut to improve of your mental well being 💖 Link 🔗 in bio
Harvested some garlic scapes for a homemade burger recipe.. Mmm.. use the scapes as you would a clove of garlic.. it tastes the exact same. Use garlic both raw and cooked in your diet as both provide varying amounts and types of nutrients.

Enjoyed the last official 💕mummybrinny 💕day yesterday, until my other little sidekick is out of school and with us to take on summer.😎 Grateful to spend so much time with my girls. And having that time was one of the reasons I chose a profession where I could be the boss and call the shots and work my schedule around my hubby's and my kids. It's not easy. Its challenging .... in SO many ways. Ways I didn't think it would be... but it forces you to GROW and RISE to the person you are meant to become💖
