Over the summer, I was very actively trying to be kind to myself, which involved speaking kindly about myself and to myself. With the school year quickly approaching, I’m trying to be mindful of my self care. So here are 3 positive things I told myself today because I felt self doubt and anxiety taking control of my emotions. 1) You have the passion, content knowledge, organizational skills, and leadership capabilities to excel in your new role this year. 2) You work so hard to support your peers, your students, your friends and your partner. It’s a lot but I am so proud of your resiliency and love. 3) You look hella cute in your gym outfit and your body is just as worthy of love as your soul. #selflove #selfcare #positiveaffirmations
Cheers to you. I love and miss you so much.
I’m excited, anxious, and weirdly sad to announce that on August 9th, I’ll be getting my quarter sleeve redone. I’ve learned a lot about tattoos, tattoo care and sunscreen and I’m just not happy with how this tattoo has aged. I booked an appointment with a badass female tattoo artist who is INCREDIBLE with color who is going to, as she puts it, “basically redo the entire tattoo.” One thing that has always upset me is how quickly Cait’s initials faded into the background of this tattoo. Caitlyn was never the type of person to fade into the background. So even though I love this tattoo and everything it stands for and represents, I will be covering Cait’s initials and moving them above the tattoo so that they will stand out more. Hopefully the tattoo will just be a lot more colorful come August and Caitlyn’s initials will be much more noticeable and vivid. My hope is to have the tattoo fully done by August 11th to honor 7 years of pain, beauty, and struggle without my best friend. Come September, I will be adding to it to create a half sleeve 🤞 #tattoo #tattoos #womenwithtattoos
