Swipe left to see unedited version! At the beginning of every season, I look back at the footage from previous seasons and get the hype on for the upcoming trips, oh winter is so close that I’m going to explode haha! Do you have any tips on getting hyped or ready for the shred times?! 🤠 Notice how sun baked that snowpack is, holy moly, definitely not Japan’s finest. . Aaaand another pic by @gabrielfernandopuebla with some kind of Sony mobile phone, who needs a proper camera nowadays when phones are this good 🤷♂️
Days are getting shorter and colder, winter and eurocarve pow turns are coming ☃️ Pic by @gabrielfernandopuebla with a Sony RX100 m4.
WOOWWS! Thank you all so much for voting One more, breathtaking! 🙏 Last day to vote (link in bio for the film) and Sunday moods kicking in, so wanted to share my retrospective thoughts on the project. . We had four days planned for this project and on the third day, we saw this mushroom tree standing proud and elated in isolation. Right then my brain went to hyperspeed mode and saw seven months to the future, where this tree would become be the cover shot for the film. . For camera geeks: All the shots are shot with 📹 Fuji X-H1 (received it the night before we left) and a 10-24mm lens set to 16mm. I rented Zhiyun Crane 2 (first time ever using a gimbal, my back was sore for weeks) and then stabilized bit more in Premiere Pro. . I definitely did mistakes while filming: 1️⃣ I was trying to wear too many hats, I should have just focused on filming and not getting riding shots of myself. 2️⃣ I was too stubborn on the gimbal and the smoothness of shots. I missed many good action shots just because the camera was on a gimbal and it didn't pan fast enough. @philip_avesand told me this, but I didn't listen. Lesson learned! 3️⃣ If you think you've enough shots and have checked everything in your shot list, you don't have enough shots. Shoot everything and all the time, more the merrier. Even though it makes reviewing the footage longer, the end result will be better. 4️⃣ If you carry the drone all the way to the most northern ski resort in the world, goddamnit Janne, use it! 🙈 . Thanks again for everyone who voted, I really, really appreciate it - more short films to come! ❤️
I don’t know which caption fits this photo better, ”moody mondays” or ”winter is just behing the corner”? 🤔 Also check out the unedited version by swiping left! . 📷 Fuji X-H1 + 55-200mm
Growing up in Finland, the flat land of lakes and islands, it’s easy to take the views from the ground for granted. I’ve fallen for that pit. I’ve compared different landscapes over the world to the one that’s our vast backyard. . Having the drone tech what we have today, is a new way for me to experience Finland from the air and makes me appreciate the long summer days in the ground even more. Just look at it. . Shot with the Phantom 4 + Adventure story in IGTV! 📺
Good bye winter 😭 I pinky promise that I’ll spend much more time outdoors next winter and less office time.
Can you spot my friends? 🤓 I really, really like hiking up on the mountains for the sunsets after a long day. You already had a great day of riding and your powder bank is full. Even though I walked past this same spot at least 4-5 times, only on my last hike up I noticed the formations in the snow and stopped for a closer look. . I guess I’m trying to say that remember take a moment and look around when you’re in the backcountry and in the nature, and not just focus on the ride down, or the next kilometer :) GO TAKE A HIKE! . Between white rooms 🇯🇵 Two weeks till we are shooting in @skisaariselka, I’m so ready to get back on the snow! 📷 @gabrielfernandopuebla 💰
Ah, my dear Japan. Even though you gave us bit too many blue skies to our liking and only few meters of snow, we’ll still miss you more than ever. Thanks for the smelly partners @alpendavid and @gabrielfernandopuebla for the sprays and laughter. . Unfortunately I broke the Sony RX100 on the first day, so couldn’t film any insta stories from our RV adventures, but I’ll try to whip something entertaining from the GoPro clips soon! :) . Eurocarves in Japan 🇯🇵 📷 @gabrielfernandopuebla
WINTER HAS ARRIVED! Finally it got all cold and cozy in Helsinki too after long and dark autumn - and you know what that means, @talmaglacier days! Got weird with @jannelipsanen, took some bangers like this one and pooped my goretex pants few times while chasing him with a camera - check out the instastory edit from the highlights, I’ll promise it is as hectic as ever! 😂 . Shot with Fuji X-T2 + 10-24mm, my favorite lens!

GUYS I MADE A MINI-MINI-MOVIE! It's called Zen Zones; • It's about our last trip to Japan • It's 100 seconds long • It's competing against 17 other mini-mini-movies in Finnish Freeriding's mini-mini-movie competition for mini-mini-glory and freezing hand shakes. . • Link to the voting and to the full video (#4 ) in my bio, go vote for your favourite! 🙏 (No need to register or anything, just pick your favourite and submit your vote) . Hopefully you enjoy it! 😊
From ”Yeah” to ”Whoop” in 1.5 seconds. ”God damnit Janne, I told you NOT to look at the trees!” - but Mondays are the opposite days, no? 🙈 Thanks for the afterspray @alpendavid 😘
100th post and a throwback Sunday - YIHÜÜ! 🎈As days are getting shorter and colder here in Finland, all body parts are running at full capacity and therefore preparing for the adventurous winter. Can't wait. . 📸 Scariest shot with DJI Phantom 4 I've ever taken. Strong winds appeared suddenly and I thought Keiko (yes, I've named my drone) was being attacked by a bird - but the gimbal just broke momentarily and was shaking all over. Thanks to DJI's smart features, we had a happy reunion with Keiko few minutes after this photo was taken - all good! 😌
Fun and useless fact of the day: Faroe islands means Sheep's islands! No sheep in this frame though, just my brother posing in Kalsoy 😎 . 📸 Shot with Fuji X-T2 + 10-24mm.
We have a world map on our bedroom wall. It has orange dots here and there, reminders where we have been over the years. I often stare the map aimlessly looking for new places - to get inspired and excited about the days to come (and give a boost to those long work sessions!). . Faroe Islands' trip was triggered by staring that map at 4 am on a Tuesday morning. Talk about dramatic landscapes peeps, whuuhhuuuhhhhh ! 😵 . 📸 Shot with Fuji X-T2 + 10-24mm.
Welcome to Lake Bled in Slovenia and it's amazing island church! This was our first stop during our road trip this summer - and oh boy how the drone wanted to get in the air over there! 😂 . FUN FACT: See those stairs leading to the church? 🔍 Slovenians consider that it is good luck for the groom to carry his bride up the 99 steps on the day of their wedding before ringing the bell and making a wish inside the church. #rockybalboa . 📸 Shot with Phantom 4
