Although i was born of the Christian faith my first name is of a Muslim background which i eventually discovered as i grew older and got to know muslim friends who gave me a brief history of my name.Because of that it helped me to keep an open mind about topics such as religion and never to judge one without getting to know it first.I made it a priority to visit this mosque to really get a feel of how they pray and how their beliefs work.I learnt a lot of amazing wonderful things from my private tour guide and have upmost respect for the muslim faith because of that.In just this single photo there are many symbols relating to the Muslim faith that they have ever so carefully integrated into the amazing architecture of this Mosque.
“Saya ingin tinggal di sini dan minum tehbotol” were the words i said to my drivers when i saw it from below. My special place in South Sumatra without a doubt. The drive was like no other getting up here where it was cold and you could literally touch the clouds and with so many twists and being surrounded by never ending tea plantations i just wish i brought my longboard to have a crack at going down such a beautiful place.I had tears in my eyes once we hopped back in the car to leave and it didn’t help that my drivers were playing a sad indonesian song which i couldnt even understand but was translated when the song finished and it was pretty damn sad😭
I dont usually post my portraits here but...To my bestie...Terimah kasi dari lubuk hatiku.I miss you and indo heaps.Thankyou for always being you☺️
We decided to explore the little town of Lahat and found a nice river while we waited for some friends who we dropped off first to do a few things in the main town.I wanted to cross the river to the supports and chill out with the guy relaxing there but i was told it was actually a rapid and i could have been swept away, camera and all, which i didnt want to risk so i envied him from the riverbank whilst i was eating my first ever proper indonesian migoreng noodles with egg and hot as hell chilli. At first i thought it was already mixed but Julz, our bodyguard for the day showed me that you still had to mix it still and WOW!!!🤤 . . . . . #nakedplanet #earthofficial #earthfocus #discoverearth #stayandwander #earth_shotz #wildernessculture #theworldshotz #ozshotmag #theglobewanderer #visualsoflife #createexplore #travellingthroughtheworld #canonaustralia #indonesia #southsumatra #sumatra #awesomeearth #folkgood #canon_official #roamtheplanet #natgeo #natgeotravel #discoverglobe #liveoutdoors #fantastic_earth #bestvacations #lifeofadventure #travelawesome #jaw_dropping_shots
After seeing the big coal mine we had extra time to head to another destination.Little did i know the soldiers who were also my bodyguards btw would take me to the one place i aimed to see as the night before we had a miscommunication due to not being able to translate this place properly on google and they thought it would be a 5 hour drive but after an awesome drive racing a family van flatout through the twisties and thru a little interesting village with great food they suprised me when we arrived here and i was absolutely amazed at how big this was.As you probably have noticed i love chasing waterfalls and to see one with a little village at the bottom with a bridge to get to the otherside was something i just cant find in Sydney.I cannot thank them enough for taking me here.Terima Kasih @ilham9545
When i visited South Sumatra i did not expect to see this. When my bodyguards said they would take me to a coal mine i was expecting more of mine shaft or small quarry like id explore in Australia but once we arrived i was in awe as to how such a beautiful tropical landscape that was apparently once a small village became a permanent and ongoing scar.Behind me was a single small house with 2 inhabitants who refused to leave and had since watched the destruction of their village.sometimes you gotta see whats going on behind the beauty of it all
Taking a trip to Indonesia was definitely worth it.Flying across the Northern Territory on the way to Jakarta i looked out the window and saw the red earth for the the first time and made me so happy.I have always wanted to visit it by car and seeing it from above certainly gave me motivation to drive towards it.So many intricate details carved into the land down under.
Natural skyscrapers in a city filled with them
Remember the big boulder chase scene in Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark...well we found the boulder after all these years worn down from water but im sure shes ready for another chase sometime in the future😅🤔
The beauty of nature likes to play hide and seek.
My photographer friends call me monkey jesus🐒because i love climbing everything that can be climbed. No matter how many times ive visited this place i still love climbing to this beam and scaring myself looking down to nothing but more beams and a concrete floor.
When Love is in the air he shall put it in every detail.Handcrafted by the owner himself since 1974.Many thanks to @tokbrothersjewellery for letting me behind the scenes to capture and watch how much work goes into the details of creating such beautiful jewellery.
Even the young must be taught how to be graceful.
Afternoon lighting is gorgeous isnt it?
“Maybe its a death cloud?” - Cloud Control. Part of the chorus from one of my favourite aussie indie tracks from back in the day.Check out the song and you’ll understand lol.I’ve seen countless sunsets and sunrises from this spot and this one was scary asf.Reminded me of independence day with Will Smith when the alien ships enter earths atmosphere don’t you think?
Spot the abseilers🙋🏻♂️🤘😎🤘 Seriously amazing scenery at this waterfall and seeing and being able to capture abseilers from @eaglerockadventures going down was dope asf.seriously gotta try it one day.
A peaceful place where i could go to clear my head when im feelin low.i needed a view from way up high to feel like i could still touch the sky.i was just grounded.ended up on grassy plains fell of my mountain and countin the days till i get back up.who knows with a little perseverance and a little luck itll take a while til il be out of this ruck.
“Happiness is only real when shared” - Christopher McCandless. Since visiting this place my imagination went into overdrive and had a vision for something more than a landscape shot.ive always thought of this place as magical and an opportunity arose to emphasise that magic.thanks @rencruz__07 @jay.sanpedro for being so super lovely.
