The stars on this night were insane. We hiked 23 km to get here and shared the Hut with only one other hiker. It was perfect!! ✨
A nice NZ fall dusting on the mountain tops. We were glad to be sleeping in a hut on these cold nights.
Driving down this gravel road we pulled over a million times because it was so gorgeous for miles and miles. Pretty cute little bridge on one heck of a farm.
These tiny glow worms were absolutely incredible. We found a spot on the map that was suppose to have glow worms, entered the little hole in the earth, and the cave was full of them! Once you turn off your flashlight and let your eyes adjust it’s almost like looking at a starry night sky. | Our moms were troopers and even lead the way! #glowworm
We were the only people camped at this perfect spot right next to the Bay. As we were getting ready for bed inside the tent we heard this screeching noise that sounded like it was right next to us. We eventually got out of the tent and there was a baby possum in a tree branch right over us. It was the scariest creature we came across in New Zealand 😱
Reaching a mountain lake is one of our favorite ways to finish a hike.
Happy Mother’s Day to two of the most courageous, loving, and beautiful mothers in the world! Both our moms travelled across the world to spend time with us traveling, hiking, camping, and cooking delicious meals in the van. Love you both!!!
Stargazing with my mom on the Doubtful Sound. It was partly overcast but we could see patches of stars in the sky. It was also the first time I looked at the stars through a pair of binos, which was surprisingly cool!
Breakfast with a view.
