#Repost @jobis89 (@get_repost) ・・・ Book review! 📚 . “Some nightmares never completely ended.” . Jessie Burlingame is left handcuffed to the bed after her husband Gerald drops dead from a heart attack. But the nightmare is only beginning... . Abbie @ab_reads and I share similar opinions on most books but this is one we’re just gonna have to agree to disagree over. I LOVED IT. Usually the premise of one character in one location for the majority of a novel would not appeal to my short attention span, but I must commend King on writing a story that captivated me for all 300-odd pages. It’s terrifying, unsettling, tense, I honestly felt like I was trapped in that room with Jessie. And for the first time since Pet Sematary, my blood actually ran cold when reading a book. . Jessie’s character development is fucking incredible. She is now one of my all-time favourite King characters. She is brave, resilient and her survival instincts impressed the heck outta me. I admire her strength and think she is one of King’s most badass characters! . Although I do feel like I need to warn people that there are triggers in this book, like sexual abuse, so beware. It’s graphic but I feel like it needed to be for its purpose. As for the ending... I won’t spoil for non-readers, but I thought it was brilliant and it actually made the story even more terrifying, for me personally. If you know my greatest fears, you’ll understand why. . It’s not very often that I love a book and yet struggle to recommend it. It’s not gonna be for everyone, but give it a go and see if it’s for you! It’s a book that seems to divide King fans and I guess you just gotta read it and see what side you fall on! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5 from me! This book might just creep into my King top 10 😱 . I’ve got a more detailed review in my blog if you wanna check it out - link in my bio 👉🏻 . .
