I’m an advocate for safe, effective and repeatable forms of strength and fitness development.... This is for those of you who are newer to a fitness regime; perhaps you started January 2018 with $300 ASICS runners and a will to pound the pavement in order to improve your fitness and have now realized that it absolutely sucks! 🤮 Before you totally obliterate your knees, ankles, hips and back try JUMPING ROPE instead! “Wait, wait, wait, jumping rope is better than running?” Yup! Better and safer! 3 reasons why: 1- jumping rope is multi-planar: you move forward, backward and side to side : therefore you build your agility and proprioception and avoid injury. 2- jumping rope for 10 mins at 120 rpm is equivalent to a moderate 30 minute jog, therefore making it more efficient 3- landing, loading and flight phases in jumping rope are in the front arch of the foot not the HEEL meaning the force of each jump is absorbed by the muscles instead of shooting 3-4x your bodyweight through yours heels and back!
