Papa 🐻’s busy worker 🐝s finishing out a great Friday lift. • Just the “end of the workout” stuff here... • They’re ready to snatch the next morning aka today 😀
Some sub-maximal work on the clean & jerk. Starting to hit a grove post holiday time. • Ask anyone who has gotten great at what they do and they’ll tell you consistent practice is key. Never random, and muscles don’t get confused 🤷♂️like the tv infomercials say they do. • Seen here at 114, 111, 109.
Brittany Turner @lifting_liberty has a career day at the USPA Mass Weekend at the @nbcwashington NBC Health & Fitness Expo. • Brittany claims🥉in a very good class and she earns her third consecutive perfect 9/9 day hitting competition PRs in all 3 lifts as well as all-time PRs in the Deadlift and the Bench Press. Brittany also secured qualification for USPA Nationals. • Seen in order here: *142.5 Deadlift all-time PR *117.5 Squat competition PR *67.5 Bench all-time PR • What a kickoff to our 2019 competitive schedule and Brittany shows why she’s one of the toughest leaders on our team. • Congrats to her and we’re still feeling great about this one. Thank you to @uspapower @mass_weekend @nbcwashington @telemundo44 for a great time!

First PRs of the New Year go to Kass @kladder23 enjoying the rewards of her last burst of hard work hitting 180lbs, 185lbs, 190lbs. • 😂first kink of ours to work out for the New Year on the 190 lol. An unnamed cameo. Sorry Kass lol. You’d think this would happen more frequently with the amount of vids we have going, but it somehow doesn’t. That was such a battle, I really hate that we didn’t get that one fully, funny as it is. • And for some reason the 190 made me bust out the Macho Man Randy Savage “Oh Yeah.” That’s a first for me too... I think?
That moment your practice and consistency pay off. @danielle_san_miguel
Brittany @lifting_liberty closes out 2018 with a big 260lb 2 rep Squat PR. She had plenty more gas in the tank, but I chose to cut her off here. She’s knocking on the door of a 300lb Squat and she’s kicking off DS Powerlifting Team’s 2019 competitive season in 2 weeks. • Brittany hit a competition PR 255lb Squat at the 100% Raw World Championships this last Fall, and being +5lbs for a double, we’re feeling very confident about her 2019. Great training cycle from her and I cannot wait to see her continue to tap into her full potential.
Drummer for @lightmare.dc Josette @josettematoto finishes the year strong with a PR double at 230lbs. And no, Joe’s hands didn’t touch the bar on rep 2. We have another camera angle if anyone wants to see it. Any bar/rep touched by a spotter is not a made rep. • Josette is so talented in so many fashions, a true renaissance woman. • If you’re into local music, check out Lightmare @lightmare.dc as they continue to put on great shows and release great tracks. Angela and Joe had the pleasure seeing them and they’re great live. Music is upbeat and energetic with a lot of meaning behind it. Check them out and give their debut album a listen on @spotify
No big lifts here at all, but on an emotional day spent with family who I love wholeheartedly, and not much time to eat/zero energy, I was lucky enough to still make weightlifting practice with our team. • Some drill work at 98/102🔑s, simply doing what I had energy to do.
Happy Holidays from Dedicated Strength and best of success in 2019!
Our kiddies always play nice. This team 😭 • @danielle_san_miguel @earllifts @weaver.j.m @sequoiabuilt • Repost from @danielle_san_miguel "Hey you all want to face each other and see who can hold it longest?" Says the person who knew he could win 😂 10 sec snatch balance hold (at 85%) on a day I thought I was running on empty. Not 18 seconds like my peers, but not bad.
Bridging a 5 decade gap through pushups with two of our favs: @ashkals and Marge. • DS: A place for ALL people to become the strongest they’ve ever been. Any gender, race, fitness level welcome. And we love beginners 😀 too!
The best captures aren’t staged. 🏋️♀️
A successful trip to New Jersey as Olivia @okburns goes 8/9 with a 300kg Total (PR) placing 3rd🥉overall in a very tough field in the SHW division. • Videoed here: -an easy 100kg (220) Squat PR -61kg (135) Bench PR -139kg Deadlift (305) • Her one missed lift is the second Deadlift video shown here which was her final lift of the day at 150kg (330). Lift was easy but that last little jerk at the end cost her the lift. I think that was highly debatable and one judge took forever to decide, but judging is very hard and we always have great respect to those who run meets. Sometimes things don’t go our way and it didn’t on this lift, but that does not overshadow a strong performance from such an awesome woman. This was about as close as we could have got to a perfect day. Congrats to Olivia and she’ll continue to learn and improve as a lifter. • This closes out our competitive schedule for the year and 2019 is starting strong in January.
About to hit the road. We’re ready. @okburns Stay classy DC.
Just some light speed work from Saturday. Hood goes on, hood goes off. 🏋️♀️
