I'm really excited about the brand and website this moodboard is for. We're going for "pretty meets polished"... thoughtfully blending pops of color, script type, and painted design elements. The big debut is next month and I cannot wait for you to see the fun and functionality we are playing around with! ☺️
We missed our visit to the Dixon to see the tulips this year, so don't mind my scroll down memory lane. See what I did there 😜 Wishful thinking... but does anyone know if they are still out?
So... curious about thoughts from anyone else who has tried @porcellino's beet salad. I love the addition of fennel, citrus, tarragon... but would maybe lose the ricotta or exchange for a different non-mushy texture (maybe salad greens)? The pecans definitely helped! Realizing I have a thing with too many of the same textures 🤷🏼♀️ Either way, this dish is light and perfect for spring / summer if it's still on the menu!
What I wouldn't give to be in this magical place right about now. All the heart eyes for all the sunshine and stucco in Alys Beach. 😍
Sometimes the most simple patterns are also the most fun! This one was created for @craveclean who launched a full rebrand this year, along with a SECOND brick in mortar in Miami. So proud of how Francesca has owned her new brand and can't wait to see what the future holds for this modern bakery. 👊🏼
Recently wrapped up branding! So excited for @brittanymyerscobb as she launched her new brand and website this week. She wanted to evoke a look that was timeless and traditional with a contemporary edge. - Britt is one heckuva #bossbabe and just the sweetest soul! I can’t wait to watch her business explode in 2018 – check the link in her bio to see her new site.
There's a first time for everything. Although I almost dreaded this Mothers Day like every other the past 6 years, @jamesmjoseph came up with a new idea for how we could spend the day. We passed the morning hours doing some things we're thankful to be able to do in this season. There may come a time when we won't always have the peaceful quiet of the sunrise... the ability to go at our own pace... the ease of sitting with the Word as the Holy Spirit whispers to our hearts. It was a beautifully, honest morning... my mind steadfastly aimed at thanking instead of mourning. - I can't tell you how refreshing it felt to embark on the day's events with full hearts to celebrate our amazing mothers and grandmothers. And have we hit the lottery with them... these women who have poured out so much to help shape, nurture, and encourage us throughout our lives. I loved being able to really be present and engage in each moment with them and our families. - Later that night, for the first time in our infertility journey, my sweet hubby gave me a shot to trigger ovulation for another round of IUI. We were nervous, I pretended to be brave, and it was over quickly. Whether this attempt works or not, this is a Mothers Day I will remember for the new step we took together... each one undeniably bringing us closer to each other and to the Lord. Do I wish we were there yet? Every. day. Would I trade what I'm learning along the way? Never. Thank you, Jesus, that the privilege of suffering yields days like this, needles and all.
Literally pinching myself because Y'ALL, we are going to London and Paris this September!!! James and I have been waiting years to take this trip and we're so excited to finally be able to go with his gracious parents. If you've been I'd love to hear about some of your favorite things to do, eat, and see! Emails welcome and much appreciated 👉🏼 firstname.lastname@example.org
This guy right here... there aren't enough words to say how crazy awesome it is to be a part of his life. To experience the joy of being the person he loves. To study him and learn more about how incredible and complex and smart and wise he is. To get to be his best friend and watch him live out his dreams... and chase after new ones. Proud doesn't begin to describe what I feel when I think of the person he is and who he's becoming. One day I’m gonna figure out how to get him all the music gear he deserves. 😉
Closing out the week with this submark for Attorneys Balestrini, Barnes, Jaber + Wood. Finding the right lockup for allllll those letters was a fun challenge and I really enjoyed fleshing that out across the other logos, stationary, and signage. When everything flows together seamlessly, it elevates the entire brand. I'll definitely share more on this one soon! Happy Friday! 🙌🏼
Love never fails (1 Cor 13:8a). I recently stumbled across a message from Jentezen Franklin titled "Love Like You've Never Been Hurt". That was a statement that stopped me in my tracks. I'm in a season where I wanted to know how, and I'm so thankful for the truth that started a crack in the wall around my heart. - To love like we’ve never been hurt is not something we can do in our own strength. We need the grace of God to help us make that phone call or send that text. To help us stop avoiding and start talking. It's not an easy road and, truthfully, I'm only a few steps in. But God is empowering me with the realization that although it feels natural to give up or shut out those who cause pain, He never gives up on us. He calls us to live at peace with everyone (Rom 12:18) and to a ministry of reconciliation. - Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation (2 Cor 5:17-18). - You may have been hurt so deeply you think it can never heal, but our powerful God can bring healing in every situation. He can give you the grace to love like you have never been hurt. Bring the wounds. Bring the mess. Bring the confusion. Bring it all to God. His grace is sufficient. And His love never fails. 🖤
I took a shot at this crispy sheet pan gnocchi and veggies recipe from @thekitchn last week and it was a hit. I did need to leave it in the oven for twice as long... might've been because I had too many veggies for a single layer 😂 Next time I might add zucchini or baby bellas. Either way, it's a keeper. Thanks for the share @emilyloeffelman!
Things are looking green again! On days like this I lovvvvve being outside, except we can’t say that word around #laylapupj or she gets over-excited and runs into walls trying to get to her leash. We have to spell it out like it’s code: “O U T” or “W” for walk. And basically... after 5.5 years of this, she knows how to spell now too. Smart dog probs. 🐶
Favorites as of late. Especially for the faces, stories, and thoughtfulness behind each piece. A ring passed down to me from my grandmother, a key given to me on Christmas by my husband, and so. many. meaningful pieces gifted from friends who knew just when I needed an encouraging word to cling to. - Words like... Selah Believe I Arose a Mother Unbreakable Expect Miracles Surrender - The past few months have been incredibly hard on my heart, but praise God that these words are still resonating there. Praise God for always being in the details and sprinkling glimpses of His love over my life – oftentimes through loved ones here on earth. Praise God for reminders that I am not alone and He is in total control. Praise God from whom all blessings flow – those now and to come. I'm just so very grateful. ✨
The Sample Co. has been live for a little over a month now! I can't believe how well @jamesmjoseph's side hustle has done already and I'm SUPER proud of him. This company has been a dream of his for a long time and I got to play a small part in making it a reality with the branding and website. When it comes to designing for businesses, there's nothing like teaming up with your better half 👊🏼 - If y'all haven't checked out TSCo yet, please do and pass it along to all your musician friends! The Sample Co. creates digital tools for the working musician. Free in the store right now: 11 Round Robin 808 Hats for Kontakt. Link in @thesampleco bio.
Designed these business cards a few years back and they're still some of my favorites. The backs have @jamesjosephaudio's logo blind letterpressed on French Muscletone charcoal paper. Super sharp and simple. If you're willing to splurge on letterpress, it makes such a great first impression 😍
Happy Easter from the Josephs! Love celebrating our risen Savior today with family and friends! 🌿
