Quiet Sunday mornings have easily become my favorite.
ONE YEAR AND 16 DAYS APART. I’m down 25lbs since that first photo 😳 and although I’m damn proud of myself for that I don’t want you to focus on that number, instead take a look at the expression on my face, pay attention to my smile. I started my yoga journey at the beginning of September in 2017, a little over a year ago now and it has been the best decision I have ever made for myself. I think Rachel Brathen said it best “The yoga pose is not the goal. Becoming flexible or standing on your hands is not the goal. The goal is to create space where you were once stuck. To unveil layers of protection you’ve built around your heart. To appreciate your body and become aware of the mind and the noise it creates. To make peace with who you are. The goal is to love,...well, you.” A year ago I was not in good place, mentally or physically. I was dealing some heavy things, things I know I will never stop “dealing” with. But I was determined not to become a victim, not to let what happened to me control me. So I turned to yoga and it was one of those ”Love at first sight” things, from the moment I first stepped onto my mat I knew it was exactly where I needed to be. I didn’t do some crash diet or crazy work out plan to get these results, I made a LIFESTYLE change. I put myself first, from what I eat, to who I surround myself with to how I spend my free time. Everything I do starts with ME. That smile on my face is every bit of REAL. I am in love with who I am and who I am becoming.~So If you do anything today, I hope you believe in yourself. Put your trust in your body, trust in your mind, trust that you are exactly where you should be at this moment and watch how your attitude and your vision change. Watch how that voice in your head changes from “I can’t” to “I can” and “I will”. If you do anything today I hope you believe in everything you are. #mystory #yogasavedmylife #25lbsdown
“I am happy out here. Messy hair, dirty feet and wild water on my skin. Out here with the wild things; this is where I belong.” -Brooke Hampton
What if you woke today with only the things you were grateful for yesterday?~~~What if you woke today with only the things you complained about yesterday?~~~What would your life look like?~~~It’s amazing how a little gratitude can change your perspective. When you start being grateful for the the things you already have instead of focusing on the things you don’t, a bad day can turn into a great day. Instead of focusing on how far you have yet to go, think of how far you’ve come. Instead of complaining about your problems, try talking about the things that bring you joy. Change your mindset and you will change your life. Happy Wednesday :)
I’d shave my legs for you 💕
Sometimes choosing to be a good person is the hardest choice you will have to make.
