Not unto us, O Lord, Not unto us, But to Your name give glory, Because of Your mercy, Because of Your truth. ___ We're blessed when we receive it all as love: the correction, the consolation, the unseen battle, the impossible victories, the dying to self, the fruit we didn't strive for, the unrealized expectations, the joy that simply arrives, the things that hurt, the very same things that heal, the people who drive us crazy, the very same people who help us remember what's true, the "us" that gets in the way, the "us" that is being made more like Jesus, the stillness following storms, the change that happens over seasons, the being pressed but miraculously not being crushed, the confusion, the conundrum, the cross, the resurrection, the giving up, the beginning-yet-again. And on and on. Because it is love. It's the same love on every side, from every angle. It's ALL from the same heart, every cross purpose. The things that seem to fully contradict themselves. They are GOODNESS and LOVE to us. And they come from a Father who delights in His child. Don't lose heart in the process. (Talking to you, soul.) ___ It isn't because of us. It isn't particularly about us. And Jesus loves us - personally and unwaveringly. Those few thoughts grant galaxies of freedom. (Thankful for a sweet friend who reminded me of this tonight.) ___ Take heart. Receive what He gives. It's a good portion, if we trust it all comes from Him. He's a good portion. Trusting means joy in the morning.
