You no realer than astrology; pseudo science; a factual celibate. 🎶🗣
I completely respect Eric Church as a songwriter. Dude’s got some serious chops. - I mean, fuck me, when I heard his song “Lightning” off his Sinners Like Me album back in 2006 I was absolutely blown away with the authenticity and cinematic quality of the story he was telling. - “Lightning” is a song sung from the perspective of a man about to be executed for the murder of a young boy who worked in a liquor store. The lyrics are his final thoughts. And over the course of the song, the man’s view of his execution changes; he finds peace to go to his final judgement. - And even though I was only 12 years old the heavy subject matter was made accessible for understanding because it dug into a lot of universal truths of the human experience and spirit under a particular heavy and complex circumstance. So even though I never experienced that sort of story personally, I was easily drawn into the narrative. It was so real, I could put myself in it. I could empathize with all parties within. I could feel the emotion. The regret. The resolve. It was all very accessible. - Now maybe I’m more of an old soul and even at 12 years old I could “get” heavy subject matter of life without living it but even so, the way he wrote every line of every lyric was very definitive. There was so much depth and substance but it wasn’t hidden or painted over by complicated metaphors or symbolism. He said that shit plain as fuck. No need to decode a thing. And that’s something I really respond to. - I encourage everyone to go listen to that song whether you’re a country fan or not. Especially if you’re a songwriter. It’s just such a great representation of this quote above. Not to mention a great representation of what it means to be a top tier songwriter in my honest and humble opinion. 💯💪
Only thing on my mind today 🙌
I’ve had a handful of enlightened moments while being stuck on the floor for the majority of my days these past few days. - I’d like to share one of them with you right now. - I was able to redefine my mission statement to be more clear & precise. - Mission Statement: Spread Positive Self-Empowerment. - How I choose to define that: Encourage others to have the courage to go on the journey of creating the best version of themselves. Encourage others to live out their own Modern Day Hero’s Journey. - So what correlation does this have with the picture above? - Simply put, in order for you to continuously update, grow, evolve, change, and create the best version of yourself you actually have to leave behind who you use to be. - Lose touch with that old you. The old ways of thinking. The old patterns of behaviors. - Adopt a new pattern of thinking. New behaviors. A new life. A new identity. - Okay so stay with me here... - From what I can tell, most people don’t have a clear definition of who they are or who they want to be. They actually haven’t truly defined their identity for themselves. And if you don’t define these things for yourself someone else is going to do it for you, and if you don’t have a solid vision of who you are and who you want to become you will always be susceptible to outside influence. - It isn’t about discovering. It’s about creating. - Okay, cool. So we got that down. Let me get more personal with you. - I’m in the middle of a crisis. - An everyday crisis that never ends. - I’m in a crisis to constantly be creating a better version of myself. - A better Adriana. - If I’m thinking the same way, doing the same things, achieving the same stuff from last year, I’m fucking up. - If at the beginning of 2019 I’m the same Adriana from the beginning of 2018 I’ve wasted the entire year. - I’m desperately killing myself everyday to get one more golden nugget that will serve me, learn one more thing that could mold me, encounter one more brain that could change mine. - I love it so much and I’m hoping that 1 person reads this & feels inspired to start their journey today. - Please start NOW. - It’s going to take your whole life to get even close to it.
“The internet has changed everything.” - I just keep thinking about how even though I’m laid up on the floor right now, 3 days into a back injury, waiting patiently for it to heal, gaining more mobility everyday yet not quite able to move around too much, I’m still, STILL able to get work done BECAUSE of the internet, BECAUSE I own a smart phone, BECAUSE there’s WiFi up in this bitch. - I’m still selling shit, I’m still learning through podcast and videos, I’m still taking notes, I’m still posting, I’m still engaging, I’m still talking to customers, I’m still making connections, I’m still hustling. Maybe not at the speed or at the altitude I want to because of the injury but man, I’m really REALLY still working. Like, fuck me we couldn’t do this 11 years ago. Are we really quantifying what’s going on here? This is so wild lol. - Just like Gary says man: “this internet thing is real as fuck.” - He’s just right. - I’m just so fucking grateful. @garyvee
Another day spent laying on the floor. Waiting for this aspirin to kick in so I can go deliver some packages like yeahhhh buddyyyy!!! - But anyway. Here’s some John Mayer to sooth your soul.
Come up with the flow, then fill in the blanks. 🔑🔑 @thelogicbible
Everything that Prince did was straight sex. Like, you listen to a guitar solo and all of a sudden you pregnant and shit. 🎸🎶🤰🤱👶🏼 @indian82
Been laughing at myself a lot today 🤣 @_science_commiunity_
Pulled muscle. Slipped disc. I don’t have a fucking clue wtf I did to my back today, all I know is I got shit to do and I #cantstopwontstop - I’m laying on the floor in these pictures because I truly could not stand(which, weirdly enough I found out a little while after this that when I do a certain stretch I can stand without pain until I become too confident and animated and have to lay back down.) but I knew I had to get these packages out today as part of my own personal customer service policy. - Here I am writing the cheap ass hand written “thank you note” for one of the packages, cutting out the printed shipping label, and getting it ready to go out. - Real talk, when you’re trying to build something, when you so desperately want to live on your own terms, there’s just not many days off.

Thinking incriminating thoughts 💭
“One of the things that I feel about Hip-Hop is—and I quote all the time is from Q-Tip where he goes: ‘Rap is not pop and if you call it that then stop’. It didn’t start out as a popular culture movement. It didn’t even have pop culture ambitions. It’s a folk art. It’s folk music. It’s tribal experience. - #hiphop #mosdef
“Malcom X to Marley Marl.” - Still throwing up mad love, respect, and adoration to the greatest culture in the fucking world. 🌎 - Yesterday I threw up a post commemorating the born day of Hip-Hop and today I really want to keep the spirit going. - I couldn’t think of a better way to spread the love than sharing this Mos Def freestyle he did for the Ice-T directed documentary— Something From Nothing: The Art of Rap. - Coming next is Mos Def’s thoughts on what Hip-Hop is. 💯💯💯 - #hiphop
