I get a little consumed within anticipating the entire experience when capturing beautiful moments like this, but sometimes you've just got to take a step back from it all and appreciate the incredible diversity as it presents itself

My favourite recent experience was witnessing this incredible cloud formation frantically form and fade across the sky as it briefly caught alight in front of me. Having the opportunity to view a display like this is an incredibly rare sight, opening my eyes wider to see what beauty nature is truly capable of. These are the scenes which feed the ambition behind the images I consistently strive to capture, and you can definitely understand why.
Number two of my five favourite recent experiences is one which is simply themed around acceptance. Ironically, I wrote an extremely detailed novel as the description of this series, which then disappeared when I tried to post it. Things happen, we are who we are, and it is what it is.
Three Of A Kind. Number three from my favourite recent experiences entails an adventure northward in search of revisiting a long forgotten perspective of the Tomaree Peninsula. To me, these images connect each other through one common theme: seek a leisure that you love :-) Happy New Year everybody, I hope 2019 brings you great joy in wherever your journey may take you :)
Number four of my five favourite recent experiences was a fiery sunrise down by Spoon Rocks. 'With a flock of unobstructed high clouds swarming through the sky during the early hours of this morning, my only question was where will I shoot? Last week I had discovered this secret little spot hidden away behind a recently developed housing estate. Over a century ago this man made island stretching out to sea was used as an access point for loading coal from nearby deposits onto the ships to be transported, traded and exported. The resulting sand along the shoreline of this intriguing area is a combination of darker shades, providing an opportunity to utilise the natural contrast on display between the elements as the oceanic flow swept throughout the scene.' Each time I had visited Caves Beach, this strange land stretching out to sea took my eye, and my curiosity didn't rest until I finally found my way down to capture the true beauty of this area.
It's been a year full of experience and learning, and with this I'd like to count down five of my favourite recent experiences throughout my exploration. After becoming stuck within Norah Head lighthouse carpark one night after sunset, I met another photographer named Wal who was on a trip down to The Sapphire Coast with his family from Brisbane. As we were in there quite some time until the security guard came to unlock the gate for us, he began showing me a few of his recent images, and upon showing an image of Soldiers Beach I questioned the location to which he stated 'this was from last time we were here on holiday, it's very close by to where we currently are though'. As the conditions unveiled great potential soon after, I was inspired to further explore this area of coastline and see if anything took my interest. The rocky outcrop off the cliff edge allows a very heavy flow of water to shoot up into the sky in large tides, and is a great challenge to compose an image in preparation of the flow to come. With the low clouds on the horizon drifting away to present a gap, the light began to dance among the clouds to produce a truly beautiful array of colour within the atmosphere P.s. If you are planning to shoot either of the above locations I recommend parking outside of the gated area and walking in as they can be extremely unpredictable with the times of when they may close!
The intricately unpredictable capabilities of nature will never cease to amaze me
10 points to anyone who can spot the ship entangled within this monumental structure! It's always a pleasure to experience the vast size and complexity of this insane piece of engineering beyond its years, plus you never know what the shifting sand will reveal!
Stumbling across this unique scene half way through my walk along the rugged coastline it had almost seemed too fitting to be real. With the lenticular cloud burning apart in the background, this mysterious frame will be etched within my memory.
