This man. Marriage has been one long, rolling adventure. From solar eclipses to stunning sunsets at the Grand Canyon to quiet starry evenings in our new neighborhood. I wouldn't have it any other way!
I dont share my face too much round these parts.... so here ya go in case you’re wondering who the ramblin’ gal is. 🙃
wild west stealin’ this soul.
fall holds on while winter moves in
new view of grand teton from the Idaho side & a really swell sunday afternoon. (3 cheers to moonlit skiing) 🙌🏽
it doesn’t looks quite this clear on the ground now ( POW DUMP!), but it does look this beautiful on these bluebird days, blanketed or not. The winter plans are happening and there’s some good things lining up for work 🙃 let’s dance!
happy national take a hike day! It's about time to lace up for the weekend. (to be fair these shoes don't actually have laces I just pull em tight & cinch em up)
it’s dumping ❄️ flakes today & cozy @polerstuff bags are required for these days ❄️
some days are made for just hangin’ and smilin’.
My life is split between surrounding myself with cactuses, wishing I still lived in the desert or wanting it to start snowing outside.
bracing for snow coming 😏❄️
we have a deal that if mom packs up breakfast and the peanut butter, Fern does dishes before we go home 🐶
SMILE BECAUSE TEN DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING
& ate breakfast up here. No better Monday than up a mountain for breakfast with my wylder pup 🌄 @wyldergoods
we started here this morning (still happy because we had oxygen).....
ranch sundays & the best ol’ blue ramblin’ round these mountains 🌄
ran along this in the morning, and aside from this altitude change kicking my butt, it was absolutely amazing. I️ may have showed up @pearlstreetbagels looking a bit alike to a cherry tomato 🍅☕️
not sure one can ever recover from shooting moments like these 🌄 jackson/wilson area, coffee date with me, i’m making friends & growing shenanigan partners 🙏🏽
26 years ago the first peregrine falcon chicks hatched in @acadianps, being one of the first successful reintroductions of these incredible birds of prey in the northeastern US since they were extirpated 50 years prior. watching my pops lead, study, and help guide this reintroduction and help band these little fluff balls yearly is unforgettable. Unlike banding eaglets, these mamas and papas are not afraid to dive bomb our epic climbing squad while we bring them off the cliff to band. 🦅
you were wild once, don’t let them tame you. -ID- 🌳🌿
What kind of food citizen are you? I had a dream last night that I was giving a presentation to my conservation icons (Joe Riis, Mary Ellen Hannibal, Kat Anderson, Michael Pollen...you were there too @charles_post ). It was all about food systems and habitat fragmentation. About how my long road studying ecology, genetically modified agriculture and as a permaculture designer eventually led me to hunting. My second season deer hunting this year was excruciating. I learned more about what lies ahead on this difficult learning path than maybe I ever hoped. However, even with its challenges — there is no shying away; only refinement and study. This method of food system management is where I find the most alignment. I’d rather tend the wild and protect layered habitat than participate in creating a patchwork of disconnected farmlands run by diesel, chemicals, and artificial life cycles. Hunting and regenerative agriculture are my choices. It is important we all find our place within the food system. Vegan, vegetarian, omnivore — to each their own. But — know your role. Know how much land mass supports your diet. How many people are involved? Do they have safe working conditions? Are they paid a fair wage? Does the runoff from the farm pollute nearby waterways and riparian habitat? Food brings us together globally in an instant. What kind of food citizen are you? Photo @jaineedial
a shameless little reminder to my wild-souled friends that if you like joining my wilderness ramblings @erinwheatroam is a very ideal place to join me 😏
the beauty of living on the Snake is that @orvis ‘s fly fishing class is high on list for this coming years escapades 🎣
Just a couple desert rats chasing sunset, eating sunchips

Just another great #adventure with my favorite #trailbuddy . 166. An excerpt: There’s pear juice dripping down my knee and I’m sitting on the tile floor of Pablo Neruda’s home on Isla Negra, the poet’s coastal hermitage. It’s the third, and last, of his houses-turned-museums that I’ll visit. The other two—one in Santiago and one in Valparaiso—Iambled through last week, pausing to stare at the ceilings that he and his wild-haired mistress stared at before falling asleep, toeing the cement cracks his toes brushed a thousand times, letting my fingers linger on the doorknob he palmed over and over again to reach fresh air. Isla Negra was his getaway, an escape from his turbulent, politically-charged world. As the pear juice crawls to my ankle, I tuck its core into my bag. Tour groups in large clusters file in and out, and amidst their hubbub I need to leave and find the beach, which you can see from Pablo's’ living room: A swath of icy Pacific sprawling towards the horizon and a handful of SUV-sized black rocks resting in the sand. (I’m getting published in a book!) _____ #writetheyear
Fun fact: After long baths/swims, the skin on our fingers and toes prunes to improve our grip on wet objects. All the better to paddle with!

These are my parents. I remember when I was young my mom told me that she fell in love with my dad because he didn't care that she mowed the lawn. It took me a long time to understand that. My mother is simply the most independent, capable, hard working woman that I'll probably ever know. With a woman like that, the man that chooses to spend the rest of his life with her is likely a liberal (and patient) one. My father doesn't try to be liberal, he just is. Growing up I could not understand why I "couldn't" do everything the boys could. I tried, hard. I wanted a bigger truck, I wanted to setup the tip-ups, I wanted to pull the boat, I wanted to chop the wood...because they could. Oh you just slammed 3 beers? I'll slam 5 and probably vomit immediatly after just to prove a point. I wanted all of the sports I played to receive just as much recognition as the boys football team did. We put in the same amount of time and worked just as hard. I couldn't understand it. Hell, I even dressed like a boy. I remember some classmates would call me a feminist, and I felt embarrassed and ashamed of that. It was a strange label that I didn't understand at the time. The way I acted just came natural to my sister and I because of how we were raised. Well now I understand it. So if all of this makes me a feminist, I'm in. If me wanting you to not assume I can't because I'm a female makes me a feminist, then sign me up. If me not wanting a grown ass man to grab my ass in a bar only to make me feel stupid for confronting him makes me a feminist, then I definitely am. I'm here to say that I'm proud to be a fucking feminist. Shout out to my dope ass parents for showing us the way. #feminism #metoo
Mother nature for president pah-lease.

When I first took this photo, it seemed really graphic to me -- like one that I needed to keep to myself. Hunting is precarious and sensitive, especially when portrayed in a snapshot. With the relief, excitement, and abundance of a successful hunt comes deep reverence, sacred tears, and an indescribable feeling of loss. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Now a year later and with four days until my second buck hunt -- I look at this photo and get butterflies. It will take every bit of luck, skill and guidance to have this opportunity again, and I'm going to give it everything I've got in order to spend another year feeding my loved ones in gratitude and in awe. Praying the Uintas let me out with another deer, and so grateful to @jonnnyhunt that I get to join deer camp again. Can't wait buddy!!
It’s been a “blink and you’ll miss it kind of fall”. But luckily, I enjoyed it with old friends who I get to enjoy more than one fleeting moment with. Also, sunshine on a Sunday, I knew you could do it UT! 📷 @mckasym new backpack flare by @deuter speedlite 😻 so comfortable and plenty of room for snacks and @ritualchocolate hot chocolate! ☕️🍂
Feeling like giving up? Throwing in the towel? Have moments where you sit an questions EVERYTHING and wonder, is this even worth it? 🗻 I'm here to tell you that yes honey bee, it is worth it. Always. 🗻 There's days and moments where you feel like your not making progress, seeing results, life isn't cutting you a break or your not hitting your mark. But let me ask you, what kind of life would this be if we DID achieve it all, everyday. Uhhhh BORING! I know that doesn't make the disappointment go away, but know that. Know that the lows are so important, the ruts reveal to us such valuable information about ourselves that we otherwise can't see. But we must be able to look at it, get curious, and investigate ourselves. 🗻 Trust me- I hear your frustration, I know the hard work your putting in, I know you are trying to make something of yourself and your life. Hang in there. 🗻 Check in with you heart and intentions and always always always listen to your gut. 🗻 Know that both highs and lows are temporary. Appreciate and savor the victories. Accept yourself and keep stepping during a rut. 🗻 Just remember #1 Breathe #2 You are brilliant #3 You've got this.

I am not sugar and spice and everything nice. I am music. I am art. I am a story. I am a church bell, gonging out wrongs and rights and normal nights. I was baby. I am child. I will be mother. I don’t mind being considered beautiful, I do not allow that to be my definition. I am a rich pie strong with knowledge. I will not be eaten. A poem currently circulating Twitter, allegedly written by a third grader. Titled "The True Feminine".
A weekend of fall colors and riding is a win in my book; even if Park City had other ideas Saturday morning. 💥 @yeticycles @mtnhub
