I got a chance to remove this Birch tree for a client that his father planted 40 years ago and talked him into nice boards instead of firewood. I think he made a good choice ;) It is unfortunate about the Birch bore beetle. I haven’t read this and I don’t know if it’s a real thing but in my opinion you should not prune these trees Until the fall or the tree is dormant. I feel like the colder it is the less likely the beetle is to be around. Let’s try and keep these trees around the PNW a bit longer please. I find that running offers the individual the option to dive deeper into their present state. Like yoga or a meditation. You could choose to move your body separate from your mind and let your thoughts run rampant. Or, you can move your body with your mind through a state of motions, synchronizing the two to elevate your experience of life to a more profound level. Thus becoming a meditation. When you come back, the goal isnt to exhaust yourself completely until you're in pain. You want to come back recharged with a deeper understanding of yourself. The distance is all mental. Here is our seafood boil setup. We cooked up 100# of potatoes, 120 ears of corn, 70# of clams, 70# of mussels, 60# of shrimp, 50# of halibut and 40# of andouille sausage along with our own spicy boil mix. Additionally, we cooked up 100# of king salmon and 90# of steak... and then there were all the salads and 50 pies for dessert! It was a fantastic feast and we had absolutely no food leftover @ the end of the night.
