↟ What a weekend! 😂 Didn’t expect this photo to go viral on Facebook, or being interviewed on the NZ news channel (3 News). . This photo means so much to me because I’ve tried quite a number of times to get this particular shot of the aurora at this location and failed throughout 2017... and finally managed to get the shot in the weekend! So never give up and keep trying! 😂 . Also, friends who are crazy enough and have the patience to face the cold while I get the shot. 🙈

Эти два бравых парня из Колумбии. Всю дорогу к вулкану делали селфи. Вообще нас было 17 человек, 16 по парам. И каждая пара была такая аутентичная, с присущими определенной стране чертами. Мы - две русские девчонки, парни на фото - колумбийцы. Еще были голландцы, немцы, итальянцы, американка, швейцарец. Ну и английский нас всех объединил. Хоть и немного кривой (всегда сбиваюсь, когда общаюсь с американцами, мне кажется, они в душе ржут над каждой моей языковой неточностью, и этот стыд мешает чувствовать себя как Яна в воде).

I’m still awestruck after one of the most incredible displays I’ve had to pleasure to behold! In typical fashion Shadow & Shade (Larryn) and I made last minute plans to take on Central Otago together only to see aurora read outs go through the roof just hours before sunset! Cloud looked to smother us out but thanks to a heads up from Jack Burden Images we found a sweet little spot that is likely to be the south-most location where viewing the aurora was possible in New Zealand! At dusk it was clear to see, the Aurora Australis had arrived! A slow burning ever lasting green glow that peaked around 10pm with this beaming layered phenomenon that we have since dubbed an ‘Aurora Sandwich’! Mind blowing layers of pink and green littered the night sky in a way none of us have personally witnessed or seen photographed! These are the moments we live for, this is why we brave the cold, scratch tired eyes and fight back the clutches of our comfortable beds. For once in a lifetime opportunities like this! I love this place. It has become like a second home and when I move on to continue my travels I will miss it whole heartedly. . It is always bustling with people from all over the world. They come to admire the gorgeous plants, flawless statues, and enjoy fine dining along with shopping. . The Circle has everything you need for a relaxing day with friends and family. You will be greeted by amazing smells of must try cuisine and the sounds of music as local artist play outside of some of the restaurants. Don't forget to take the time to walk along the beach a block away or travel a block or two the other way onto this little bridge to admire the skyline of Sarasota across the bay. Mountaineering season starting very soon so it's time to share our next movie project. In June. We are working on a expedition in Peru 🇵🇪 to climb the Chopicalqui. It's a 6400m summit in Cordillera Blanca area in the Andes. We will conduct a movie in the heart of Peru through outdoor sports and passionate people.
