This morning I packed up my gym bag (along with the other three bags required for mom life today) with the intention of going to the gym after swim class. Since swim was in the neighborhood of a HomeGoods I decided to brave the store, with toddler tornado, to make a return instead of driving back out this afternoon. Well, Ben was overtired already and started to act up in the store (not his fault; there are Christmas toys for little boys ALL OVER that store right now; inclusive of drive-it yourself cars 😳). So, despite finding a few things for our dining room decor, I was leaving there slightly frazzled after attempts to wrangle a toddler back into the cart 🛒😳 . . It was then I had a decision; skip the gym and figure out what to do at home for an hour until naptime because my head wasn’t in the right space OR head to the gym to take a mental break, allow Ben to play in the childcare center, and NOT have the workout hanging over me this afternoon. . . As you can see, I chose the latter. . . Because feeling slightly frazzled is the perfect time to press the reset button, sweat it out, and regroup for an afternoon of mommin! 🙌🏼 And although Ben was slightly tired, it was way too early for naptime; and he actually had a blast playing with trucks and running around at the club. . . So moms, when you’re feeling like you’re too busy or overwhelmed to workout, do it anyway. You’ll feel better, healthier, and set the tone for a better mood for the rest of your day ♥️ Promise.
