Day 23: Again, Life has happened and I’ve been a bit MIA. Let’s pick up where I left off though, today’s story first has to take us back in time about 5 years ago when I coached a Teen Bible Quiz team at our church. I became very close with the kids (okay they were teens but I still call them my kids) on the teem. When I began considering taking in Sweetie Pie and Sweet Pea, I knew I would need some help. I am single, with a toddler, and two newborns would mean no sleep. I also had never been a full-time parent to a newborn and quite frankly I was terrified. So, I reached out to two of my kids and asked if they would be willing to help me with nightshifts. I knew that if I was getting zero sleep, I would not be able to make it through everyday. These two girls stepped up in amazing ways. For the first 6 weeks that both girls were home I had overnight help every single night. These girls were lifesavers. I would NOT have been able to do any of that without them. I was exhausted and I HAD help, I can’t imagine what those first several weeks would have been like if I didn’t have help. I will forever be grateful for their help! It really takes a village and I have amazing people in my village and I wanted a special “Day” post dedicated just to those two people in my village as they were so vital to our success!
