Whenever I find lost relics from a bygone age like this, it makes me wonder just what caliber of man it took to build a life in the West Deserts of Utah, chasing the silver buried deep within the mountains. The winters are just as harsh as the summers and the lack of water and farmland makes for an unforgiving lifestyle. Look at the logs this cabin was made with for example. There are no trees nearby which would have been used to make such logs, only shrubs and bush. The lumber had to be hauled across miles of dry valleys and rocky mountain passes to its final location here, tucked away in the Desert. All to chase the silver rush and hope to make a livin'.
