Going to the gym vs. having an active lifestyle. I use to think the ONLY way to get my “goal body” was to become a gym freak. I spent HOURS lifting weights, running sprints, and pushing my body to it’s breaking point (all while not caring what I was eating or how I was feeling mentally). This surprisingly worked…when I was in HIGH-school, with a SUPER FAST metabolism, and TIME to workout for 3 hours on top of another 3 hour sports practice EVERYDAY. In college I thought I could maintain my unhealthy lifestyle and just train like I had before. Yeahhhh soooo that didn’t work. No matter how pumped you feel, you can still have a bad workout in the Bell Center. Two months flew by, the freshman 15 set in, I had ZERO energy, and I HATED the gym. After years of trial, error, frustrations, meditation, and self-acceptance, I finally realized living a healthy lifestyle is the QUICKEST way to achieve fitness goals. It takes A LOT of time to figure out what types of food, exercise, and self-reflection a person needs to maximize results. I was able to figure it out for myself using the Bell Center resources like group classes, the Drake Wellness office, and so much more!!! . . . #ThisIsDrake #DSMUSA #healthvlog #organiclife #healthylivingtips #midwestlife . . .
