If you are beginner you can do this for the first 10-12 months but after that you have to put on your big boy pants! After a year of training you progress to year 2(I know I can count it's AMAZING) this is where it's tougher to eat whatever you want and get results at the gym... Year 3 and up is even tougher... Anyways here is how you stay lean and make gains if you are not a beginner! It's called mini cuts and mini bulks! A mini cut is where you eat in a deficit(I recommend bodyweight in pounds multiplied by 10) this will get you results faster and it's more effective! You do this until you can see all 6 abs of your 6 pack(or 8 pack depending on genetics) and than you mini bulk! A mini bulk is where you take your bodyweight in pounds and multiply it by 20! You eat here until your two bottom abs start to fade and than it is time to cut again! It will differ from person to person, I am naturally skinny so I can do a mini bulk for 1 month and cut for 2 weeks or 3 week bulk and cut for 1! However if you gain weight easily you can cut for 3 weeks and bulk for 1(depending on your abs) this is how you stay lean all year round and gain MASS! Don't forget about the other important factors, such as sleep, lifting weights(definitly helps), water intake, cheat days, protein intake and all the other fun fitness things!
