I sit here, embodied, observing the body, this precious instrument that is my temporary interface with this reality. . “My body”, “my brain”, “my skin”... the mind tries to posses something that is so transient, so sacred and so ephemeral. . The more I inhabit this body, the more I see that I am only the steward of the genetic wisdom of my ancestors and of the human species. . How to relate to this marvelous gift? How can I have a respectful, loving and kind relationship with the body? . I create daily prayers to honor the thread of life living inside of my DNA. . I cultivate deep acceptance for what is. . I send warm waves of love to every single cell, tissue and organ in my body. . When I look into the mirror, I soften my heart and then I smile. I wonder how many lives of ancestry it took to bring this body and my presence here. . I pray to the lands and to all people that give nourishment to keep this body healthy and alive. . We get addicted to pleasure, partly because we confuse it with happiness, when happiness is actually closer to the experience of acceptance and contentment than it is to pleasure. Aychelle gave me a blessing with Tobacco Snuff, also known as Rapé. South American Shamans have used Rapé as sacred medicine. Rapé is blown into the nostrils using a special pipe named Kuripe. It’s difficult to describe the sensation. But I’ll try my best. Almost immediately you get a strong sensation in your nostrils that make your eyes water. I wouldn’t describe it as painful but it was intense for a couple of seconds and not the most comfortable feeling in the world. But totally worth it. It felt like a rush in your sinuses. I closed my eyes and felt grounded. My head felt a little heavy and I set some intentions. I was overcome with a sense of appreciation for the people around me, Aychelle & Alexander, and even myself. We had such a beautiful gathering last night at Ceremony Meditation for our first event on the series Plants, Sound & Ancient Wisdom! . In this event we shared a delicious concoction of heirloom spiced cacao from Equador, followed by aromatherapy with a special essential oil blend created by @aychelehill. . Made with essences from ten different trees from all over the world, this blend condensed the spirits of Copaiba Balsam from the Amazon Rainforest, Eucalyptus Smithii from South Africa, Juniper Berry from Bulgaria, Eucaliptus Staigeriana from the South of Brazil, Balsam Fir, Black Spruce and Hemlock Spruce from Canada, Blue Gum Eucalyptus from Australia, Cedar from Himalaya and Cypress from France. Eucalipti, Conifers and Aromatic Resins have an affinity with the respiratory system, clearing the nasal passage and strengthening the immunity of the pulmonary tissues. Healthy lungs with an expanded lung capacity allow us to receive more energy in the form of Prana/Chi/Life Force and to get into meditative states with more ease. .
