Many hands make light work! These superstars gave up their morning to unpack, sort and hang clothes at the @thread_together shop, in preparation for the #eatshopchop event tomorrow. This event will see 250 people in need come through to get new clothing, food and a haircut and the shop wouldn’t have been ready without these wonderful volunteers. #volunteer #kidsgivingback #makingiteasytodogood #handsonlearning @orangeskyau @ozharvest Thanks also to @waverleycouncil for partial funding of our holiday programs.

At Kids Giving Back, we’re all about real life stories. Here’s Andrew, Rough Edges patron and formerly homeless person, sharing his story with @waverleycollege Year 11 boys during our Cook4Good program. #kidsgivingback #educationinaction #volunteering #makingiteasytodogood #cook4good
Empowered. Inspired. Insightful. Connected. These are just some of the words Tara Anglican students used to describe their Service Camp with us. Pictured here are crucial elements to our program: Eduction - Megan Howie from the Sanctuary Shelter describes some of the issues women face as a result of domestic violence and accepts care packages for women and their children from our students. Action - students volunteer in a hands on, meaningful way by making scones and visiting aged care facilities to host tea parties and interact with the residents Reflection - Students reflect on what they have learnt and how they can continue to have a positive impact on their communities after the program. #makingiteasytodogood #Scones4Good #volunteering #servicelearning #schools4good #kidsgivingback
Sorting, folding, packing and stacking, all with the aim of getting new clothes to those that are doing it tough. Look at that tower of boxes! 1.5 hours of hard work by Year 10 Tara Anglican School for Girls, condensed to 38 seconds. On top of this, they learnt about issues asylum seekers and refugees face, as well as empathy based activities explaining why volunteering is so important. Thanks so much for volunteering your time at @thread_together, as part of our 3 day Schools4Good program. We’ll see you tomorrow for Cook4Good! #volunteerwork #kidsgivingback #cook4good #makingiteasytodogood #threadtogether
