A quick 24 hour stop back in Lima after 5 mind blowing days in the Amazon Jungle before we head into something a little bit more comfortable, mountains. What I learnt is that comfort isn’t a word that exists in the jungle. Humidity’s doesn’t ever drop below 80%, sweat is something you learn to ignore, and there’s a constant feeling that something is landing on you 24/7. I came out with 20ish thorns jabbed into my hand, fire ant bites that still sting and itch, and had my shin split open. But it was one of the most raw adventures I’ve ever been on and I would go back in a heartbeat. Next time though, need to bring tonnes more bug spray.
