I meant to post my pics from my Bronte pilgrimage to Haworth last month. Have you been? I loved our little trip but would love to go back some day as wished we’d known we could have taken the steam train from Keighley to Haworth. The stations are beautifully kept. I also hadn’t realised till we got there that ‘The Railway Children’ was also filmed in the area -a film I still enjoy as an adult and I must have seen it 20 times. Any other fans out there? We watched it after we came home. The exterior of the Bronte Parsonage is used as the doctor’s house in the film. The town has such old fashioned charm with cosy coffee shops and village pubs. Swipe to see the ‘Black Bull’ pub where brother Branwell went drinking. It’s not hard to imagine the Bronte Sisters wandering around here and you can even visit their father’s church. The Parsonage itself is a comfortable family home though it’s sad to imagine the lives of Anne, Emily, Branwell and Charlotte cut so tragically short. It’s lovely that they left such adored books behind and amazing that they are still so widely read all these years later. I’m sure they would never have dreamt about such a legacy. I definitely recommend a visit to Haworth for any Bronte fan.
