Two lichens I only see on Virginia pine (Pinus virginiana) in Southeastern Ohio. Both named after a famous botanist from the 1800s Edward Tuckerman. First 1-4 we have a wrinkle lichen (Tuckermanopsis sp.) We have 2 species of winkle lichens which can only be told apart by chemical testing. The two species are (T. americana) and the more abundant (T. ciliaris) there is also a dwarf wrinkle lichen (Tuckermanella fendleri) which the lobes are much more appressed. Second 5-7 we have crumpled rag lichen (Platismatia tuckermanii) which looks somewhat similar but can be easily told by the riges on the lobeds. Both species are quite uncommon in Ohio.
