We can do our best to try and be ready for the unknown.. but in this career, it is the unknown that can and will test us during our most vulnerable moments. REPOST from @ffprovinggrounds - "I know how flames spread. I know the dangers of fire-flashover and backdraft, and I know ways to protect myself from these hazards. The only thing I cannot predict is sudden building collapse. The floors, walls, and roof can cave in all of a sudden, and there is nothing I can do about it" ⠀⠀⠀⠀ Vincent Dunn "Collapse of burning buildings - A guide to fireground safety 2nd edition" ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Seen here: On Monday during a 3rd Alarm Fire in Brooklyn NY a 20-foot section of the facade and roofing material of a brownstone came crashing down on top of four firefighters as they were backing out of the fire building to re-group. They were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
