Lately I’ve been drawn to flow charts for learning diagnosis/treatment of various conditions.🤓 ▫️▫️▫️ ❤️ HEART FAILURE - inability of the heart to fill and/or pump enough blood to meet the body’s needs. ✌🏼Two most common types: HF with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) aka systolic HF, and HF with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) aka diastolic HF. 💢 Most common causes: coronary artery disease (CAD)/myocardial infarction (MI) and hypertension (HTN). ❕Clinical pearl: beta-blockers, ACE inhibitors, and aldosterone antagonists are the main medications used to manage chronic HF. ▫️▫️▫️ DISCLAIMER - this is not medical advice. Consult with your PCP, cardiologist, or naturopathic physician for further diagnosis, treatment, and/or management.
